Late Intro - 997.1 GT3 RS

Rode motorcycles with some track time in my early twenties, had to switch to cars subsequently due to nature of job. Started with a 1st generation MR2 that was extensively modified followed by a Mazdaspeed Miata that was also extensively worked over.
Was mulling over what car to change to and tried a succession of vehicles including M3 / 1M Coupe / Audi TTRS / Audi RS3 / 2011 Boxster S - none of them could give me the connected feel my Miata had.
Finally had a go in a GT3 and I was immediately sold. After pouring over the rennlist forums looking at information over several months, I finally decided on a 997.1 GT3 RS in May. Car is ROW spec with the GT bucket seats / Plastic rear windscreen and green rollcage. (Cage was removed to have better load carrying also car is 90% road / daily driven.)
Car had about 5000miles over a 4plus year period from the previous owner and the condition was practically new. Pricing was about what I could afford (cars being extremely expensive over here in Singapore
) thus did not even really think about the 3.8RS.
Car is daily driven (in city traffic) and I managed to throw in 2 track sessions so far. As a daily driver - it is loud & noisy but bearable - upgrading the audio to a 2 din Alpine unit with GPS, Reverse Camera and Bluetooth helps in the urban environment. Clutch is stiff but not much different from what I had in the miata,
gear shift is quite a fair bit notchier though. Suspension is bumpy yet strangely compliant compared to my miata - so no complaints there. I have managed to add another 6000 miles to the odometer since June.
The chassis, suspension set up and aero is a whole different level to my previous vehicles - extremely stable at speed and confidence inspiring. Not the mention the amount of grip at both ends of the car (I changed out the 5yr old MPSC to a new set of MPSS immediately after getting the car). The PCCB brakes bites well and allows modulation and the braking performance is the thing I loved most upon getting the car. The 3.6 engine feels torquey enough even though it is NA.
List of mods so far:
Rear RSS Toe Links
GT2 Rear Anti roll bar
997.2 rear brake cooling ducts
RSS engine mounts
Voltphreaks Lithium battery
OZ superforgiata Wheels
FVD Titanium rear muffler bypass
Things on the horizon or in consideration:
Guards LSD rebuild
switch to side muffler delete
Will give a short review of some of the items installed in another thread.
Photos are iphone quality but you get the idea![ooops](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/icon501.gif)

highly recommend side muffler delete. but keep in mind that the single rear muffler will fail at the seams and you will need to get it better welded. Shop I use does preventive welded steel plates over the usual fail spots.

Danm Shann, you got that car dailed!
Nice color and mods.
I agree, the clutch is a little heavy and loud for daily use but tolerable of course if you are young at heart.
The car is modern classic.
