great engine. but engine was 20 times better than the gearbox.
gt3 has an even better engine, but imo, the gearbox is yet even better.
no comparison, and i will never use an m as gateway.
maybe cayman s as a streeter, but never a bmw.

agreed. i never owned an m3 but drove an e46 version a number of times.
great engine. but engine was 20 times better than the gearbox.
gt3 has an even better engine, but imo, the gearbox is yet even better.
no comparison, and i will never use an m as gateway.

but i woke up one day.... and decided that was that....
and of the 100's of cars new old pos i owned, bmw is the ONLY car that ever left me stranded.. e36m3 no less.

2001 M3 (still my DD - I call it the "truck" now)
Funny story... I had a 2010 M3 on order for euro delivery when I changed gears and cancelled the order for the 2010 GT3. After selling the GT3 18 months later, I actually did the exact same thing (deja vu all over again!)... 2013 M3 for euro delivery, only this time I got a 2011 GT3 RS instead.
