How many of you owned a M3 before their GT3?
 

Seems that a lot of us have owned or currently do own a BMW M3 along with our GT3s. With the addition of Monochrom3 I thought it would be interesting to see how many of us did come from owning M3s. What says the poll? List the car you owned before the GT3 even if it is a M3

Nice! My M3 was a 2004, titanium silver. Had a TON of mods:

Engine/Exhaust/Driveline: ESS VT450 supercharged; Dinan 3.91's, Euro headers/cats; SuperSprint resonated x-pipe, SuperSprint race muffler
Suspension/Braking: Ground Control coilovers & camber plates 500f/550r, Ground Control front race sway; Stoptech BBK 355mm ST60(f)/40(r)
Asthetic: OEM CSL bootlid, Dinan 19's, Dinan pedals, Illuminated ZHP knob, black gills/grilles/corners/sides, LED interior, Euro center console
Other: Apex ARC-8 18x9.5 square (track), Schroth 4-point, Dinan SSK, BW 75mm studs, RE tranny mounts, PF RTABs, TMS subframe reinforcement
Acoustic: Focal 130VR components (front), JL Audio StealthBox (subs), JL Audio 450/4

Was my dual-purpose weekend and track car. Now, a friend and I are building a dedicated track car from a 1996 TechnoViolet M3: http://m3forum.net/m3forum/showthread.php?t=411218 I'll definitely take the GT3 to the track, but the e36 M3 is the one to really push and refine driving skills.

M3 is the gateway drug to GT3. Been saying this for years.

I owned a 95 m3 in college, 5 years ago. I had a bunch of mods, but most importantly, 3 10" JLs in the trunk. :D

I agree, I find so many people go from the E46 to a 996TT and then 996 GT3.

Had a '95 and an '02. Loved my E46, just sold it after 8 years of ownership, held onto it the last couple of years for all the wrong reasons but sadly never really used it. I'm almost happy it's in the hands of another enthusiast that's enjoying it now.

Currently in an 08 E92 M3, looking to move to a GT3.

Drove (didn't own) an E90 M3 last two years in carpool. Think the prior owner beat on it because it didn't feel all that solid.

They're okay but unimpressive compared to RS.

S52 & S54 M-coupe's.
