Had an E36 M3 cab, and later an E46 M3 coupe. The steering in particular on the '36 was so sweet (though not as good as on the previous gen 3-series, forget the nomenclature) and loved the high-revving E46 motor.
Many 911s and other Porsches before those, of course, and now on my second 911 since the E46.

I'm a long time Porsche guy that just got an M3. I still have the Porsches but the M3 was a good fit for me as a DD. I really like it so far.
The GT3 is on my radar as soon as my youngest graduates college.

2001 M3 (still my DD - I call it the "truck" now)
Funny story... I had a 2010 M3 on order for euro delivery when I changed gears and cancelled the order for the 2010 GT3. After selling the GT3 18 months later, I actually did the exact same thing (deja vu all over again!)... 2013 M3 for euro delivery, only this time I got a 2011 GT3 RS instead.
