I don't know how the elevation changes come across on TV but literally where we are sitting (turn 15) we can see 6-7 turns, probably 4 right in front of us and then another 3 way on the other side of the track as they come up over hills and dip away. Looks just like a roller coaster. I'll see if I can get pics of what I'm talking about tomorrow. Easily the best non Nascar racing facility, and more than likely way better than those too. This is the real deal. Can't wait to drive it!!!

T11 is SICK!! T10 is actually better IMHO downhill looks like it's flat out track cambering away from you...Watching the GT3 Cup Cars take it was fun...I'm sitting in T4 with a few friends. I hope to join the lucky few to drive it as well.

This is a panoramic shot from the turn 15 stands. You can see 1/3 of the track from here at the top of it. Has to be one of the best views in the house.
Ferrari challenge guys were hilarious and you are correct, typical bumper cars. They always run into each other in almost every turn. One guy was so slow he needs to be in DE1. He got lapped on lap 6 or 7 in a 10 lap race on a 3.4 mile course. lol qualified at a 2:35. Only 22 seconds off the pace.
Dont know why its coming out like this, just turn your computer sideways. LOL

The circuit is beautiful. Makes Watkins Glen and other "famous" US circuits look rather "second hand". Wonder if COTA will provide any incentive for upgrading of these circuits or would that be messing with the historical quality/attraction?

I was thinking that too. This track makes every other track in the country look rag tag. There is not a more complete track out there. Its got esses, major elevation changes, technical sections, fast turns, slow turns, blind turns even with the elevation. Hard to imagine driving it and not walking away thinking nothing in this country compares.
I know Tilke gets bashed a lot but happen to like some of his street circuits and I think this may be his best yet. Its not his fault bernie has neutered the passing in F1
With nascar owning sebring and road atlanta now maybe we will see some upgrades because Panoz clearly wasnt going to do it.

just finish watching the F1 race ... OMG! what an amazing track and race! Anyone and everyone are there for the race and the place is totally packed
I can't imagine any track nut not wanting to drive COTA. If MVP comes through with the event in March I will make COTA a yearly pilgrimage
Here comes the cavalry!![thumbup](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/thumbup.gif)

i watched the first 20 laps then went back to bed when our boy had a rare mechanical failure...ah well,
ricciardo will come up the ranks soon, hopefully.
nice track though - would take quite a while to learn, alot of different apexing was happening.
but as the iceman said, "leave me alone, i know what i'm doing"....haha

Funniest moment of year when he said that.
I reiterate. This is probably the best track in the Americas. The only track in my head from playing video games and watching videos that i would rather drive is SPA, and maybe Brands Hatch. I love Curutiba as well. I dread long trailer drives but cant wait to head back down for this track. Looks great for passing too based on where passes were made and almost made. I hope this event continues to do well. This more than made up for the failure of USF1 IMO.
