Like the xpel man said, plexus or other "sealant" type protective products are no-no. Soft clay is just fine, good wax is just fine. But i would not use polish. Polishes are abrasive and i believe most film companies do nit recommend.

Not sure if you're responding to the Turtle Wax Ice comment, but Ultimate Shield actually uses the spray detailer (not sure on the polish) as an option on XPEL.
If there's a problem there, XPEL and Ultimate need to get together and change that option for use.
It has worked very well for me in practice with no observable downside after one year.
* edit : went back and specified the spray detailer which I use and not polish, as haven't checked that

Thanks, changed mine to specify the spray detailer pre-track
as that's what Ultimate offered and has worked well with track grime and compatibility.
