Estimates to pull and replace engine tend to be about 16 hours shop labor, maybe it gets done faster. Plus labor to pull actuators & replace. At 200/hr porsche dealer rates this seems about on.

So it seems like if everything is taken out and installed at the same time the labor will be much cheaper.

I'm asking because I want to pin/weld coolant lines and have been thinking about RS LWFW for a long time. Seems like it is reasonable if you're going the extra mile for the LWFW, why not fix the actuators too?

Damn! The dent in my wallet only seems to get bigger

1. it was my understanding that dealers (at least mine) will not TORQUE actuator bolts, i seem to recall being told the factory does'nt sanction that. but replacing the acutuator unit in its entirity is ok. i may haev heard wrong. but this is what i recall

Same experience, they wanted to install the rev'd actuator parts. They will not touch the bolts.

Mine strongly recommended against torquing the bolts; they don't have torque specs to follow.

The labor costs are pretty close and since they did not charge any labor for replacing the clutch and pressure plate, it was a no-brainer for me to replace the actuators and have the piece of mind and the warrantee.

Dealer (Porsche London) did mine during 4.0 PP / Clutch disc swap (after 3.8 failure). Also pinned coolant lines:

Looked at an private party sale 11 RS yesterday that had this cam work performed back in 2015 with 4700 miles on the car and it now has 5000.
Attached is a photo provided to me, what concerns should one have here?
