hey guys- have to chime in since even though I don't do DE stuff anymore and I don't really care about the 991 and it's electric steering...but I have taken my CGT on the track a few times. I agree with the comments
-it sounds awesome
-it is more composed at speed vs 911
-PS2 is **** for track tires on a 600hp car
-IT SOUNDS AWESOME!!!
seriously though- the car isn't really that hard to drive to a high level, but in the back of your head there really isn't anything to compare it to, unless you've driven an IMSA lites car or a similar prototype or open wheel car around 300+hp.
it is VERY sensitive to throttle when the wheel is turned on the PS2 tires. I did about 100 track days in my gt3 and gt3 RS over a few years and they are much easier to drive on the limit, simply because at 600HP stuff just happens a lot more immediately vs 400-450HP. Driving a lot of different race cars (F-mazda, F2000, F3000, F-atlantic) and street cars (GT3, andial 993TT, 599GTB) eventually you become numb to anything with less than 500hp unless it's wet. A gt3 is so planted you can stomp on the gas pretty much anywhere and you're not going to get in trouble. you're more likely to try and take something flat and shoot off with understeer in a GT3 than you are to spin it and crash it.
The CGT on real tires would be a lot of fun.
On stock tires the balance in sweeper type corners is much much better (than a 911)- none of the "pogo" feel or having the front wander around. It's more like open wheel cars- there is no roll at all. The pushrod suspension is tuned (seemingly) to soak up anything small, so it just kind of glides over stuff that would cause the 911 front end to hunt.
The change of direction during combinations/complex corners is pretty deliberate because the car is so long, the wheelbase feels long, and it doesn't necessarily hyper-rotate, so like has been said at less than 100% it isn't very threatening. But because of the power delivery and the tires, when you are too slow to unwind the wheel and too fast to apply the gas...the tail can come out REALLY quick. the TCS system is much more of a bacon-saver in this car than in a 911- maybe the new GT2 or GT2RS can compare in terms of immediacy but the main hindrance of the car is tires.
this is also the recipe for a really long, controlled drift. I actually learned how to drift in this car since I lived on the track in TX back in 2009 and at night had the entire parking lot to myself. I also learned how to do those fancy F1 style 180s in the CGT by practicing in the wet.
the gearbox feels awesome, most CGT owners or drivers have no idea how fast you can shift it with such short throws and such a tight and small clutch/flywheel combo...but the downshifts are amazing.
Personally, I really love my MP4-12C as it is more usable on a daily basis than any of the GT3RS or CGT or 599GTB cars I've owned and driven.
but the great thing about my garage is that it fits more than one car, and the CGT is a MUST OWN if you have any shot at getting one. It makes me happy, sweaty, nervous, excited, etc all just by turning the key or running my hands down the side. it's sexy.

yeah sure no problem. I should be the official ridiculous vehicle tester. I've got open wheel, sports car, and motorcycle experience. I'll be free at some point to test your Mono!

haha my garage has some fun toys but the best track vehicles are my Grand-Am mazdas...like my post states the stock CGT tires are no bueno on track...the pirellis on my MP4 also have a little too much tread.

600 hp is THE magic number.Its what I imagine heroin is like. It totally changes your approach to driving.
