PCCB alternatives

Like I wrote in the Movit thread, the cost/benefit has to skew a bit towards cost for it to be worthwhile to me. I think the Stillen price at around $15.5K for the rotors, hardware and hats (assuming $700-800 for pads) is almost reasonable IF they are the Surface Transforms rotors or similar type sourced by AP- ie. can be reground, are tough as nails and supposedly a permanent solution. If not, they are only a slightly cheaper solution to the same problem the OE rotors have- high cost and eventual required replacement.
If not, steel's the way to go.

Sort of on topic, yet slightly off...
WGP (Nissan GT-R shop in CT) are offering an OE Corvette ZR1 carbon rotor retrofit kit package for the R35 GT-R. Here's a link to the thread-http://www.nagtroc.org/forums/index....grade-updated/
Kit price is under $10k for all four corners. Includes pretty much everything needed including a carbon cooling duct for each side in front.
Which brings us back to the original issue- why is the Porsche OE rotor so expensive?
