PCCB alternatives
I was looking at Stillen's website and I saw this. Anyone have thoughts on this CCM kit from Stillen? I know it's not for Porsches but is the technology the same, or similar, or not?
In addition, the price is right. Four discs, hats, pads and hardware for under $18K. The fronts would work with a spacer and a different hat. The rears, well, would need a bit more work. This technology seems quite similar to the Movit/Surface Transforms rotors.
Thoughts? Is Movit pricing about right, or is Stillen pricing closer to what you would expect?

Nice find! They are definitely selling the ST rotors based on the description and graphics. However you will NOT fit a 400mm rotor in there. Trust me 
Also the adaptation from one application to another is no simple thing. There are a bunch of little details that if you get wrong will have a very costly result in time, money and health
I am pretty sure the US MovIt rep can hook you up with a proper (rotor only) kit for $20k'ish so not far off from the Stillen.

That's kind of the point- the Stillen kit, properly fitted to the R35 GT-R, with pads and hardware is under $18K for all four corners. Movit, using a smaller 380mm rotor, is much more. I understand the Porsche tax thing, but over 10% more and not getting pads which is probably another $800 hit per axle. If Surface Transforms makes the 380x34 front rotor and the 350x30 rear, why wouldn't Stillen be able to source them like they source these, and why would the price be higher?
For what it's worth I am adapting the 380x34mm R35 GT-R front brakes onto my R32 Skyline GT-R. Not that big a deal, already done in Japan by NISMO and others. And I'm using TE37SL 18x10 wheels, those and the Rays/Volk Racing made NISMO LMGT4 18x9.5 wheels clear the 380x34mm brakes no problem. In fact NISMO Omori Factory also installs the rear 380x30mm kits too, all using a factory big bore master cylinder.
In any case, that's just one alternative. I'd love to hear others if they are available and cost effective.

Brembo has their CCM-R, a second generation CCM product that comes out of European Racing. Durable enough for racing but with a corresponding price point.

A european company makes ... yes they manufacture CCBs, and a lot of other carbon fiber parts.
I'll post more information soon... prices are really affordable as the producing time is a lot shorter than the OEM PCCBs from brembo. This company is a OEM supplier and works close to Brembo as Brembo has the rights to supply to several manufactures, like Porsche and Ferrari, just to name a few.

Like I wrote in the Movit thread, the cost/benefit has to skew a bit towards cost for it to be worthwhile to me. I think the Stillen price at around $15.5K for the rotors, hardware and hats (assuming $700-800 for pads) is almost reasonable IF they are the Surface Transforms rotors or similar type sourced by AP- ie. can be reground, are tough as nails and supposedly a permanent solution. If not, they are only a slightly cheaper solution to the same problem the OE rotors have- high cost and eventual required replacement.
If not, steel's the way to go.
