Tom, with your multiple Targa Newfounland experience, Sebring would be like home for you, not as bumpy as the Targa. Leave a car down here in Florida, you'll love it.

PBOC is adding Time Trials to our events! At Daytona, there will be 6 hours of time trials if you sign up for all three days! You will need a amb transponder and meet our safety requirements (no pick up trucks, etc.). There will be awards for 1, 2 and 3rd in class at our annual awards. Sign up now for Daytona (a garage is included). As with all the clases, feedback will be included from our professional coach, Dave Scott. Data Acquisition will also be available at select events. Sign up as a Super Solo and email Joanne that you want to run Time Trials and she will change your car class.

I think given the typical cars running in SuperSolo, 2 or 3 classes max would be enough. Too many classes would create empty classes, one class only would be unfair to most drivers.
I would like to see something similar to this, using weight/power ratio, and adding penalties for: non-stock Aero, factory race cars, sequential gearboxes, slicks, autoX tires, Forced induction, AWD, FWD.
PBOC TT Platinum: cars with 5.00 index or faster
PBOC TT Gold: cars with 5.01 through 8.00 index
PBOC TT Silver: Cars with 8.01 index or slower
Factory Race Car (stock trim): -0.4
Non stock Aero: -0.4
sequential transmissions: -0.2
slicks: -0.8
AutoX tires (A6, R1S, RS, V710, C91) : -0.4
DOT-R Track tires not for street use: (R6/R1/C71/C51) -0.2
AWD: -0.4
FWD: +0.8
Forced Induction: -0.4
Platinum would end up being where most race cars running PBOC (Vipers, modified GT3 Cup, modified Ferrari Challenge, race Vettes, etc), Gold and Silver would end up being mostly street cars and some of the race cars built by shops.
Then make it a points system, so TT drivers are motivated to run the entire season, like NASA and NARRA do. Keep the Track Records updated.

Rad, you know they aren't prepared to handle that level of tech. From what I hear, even the race groups can be somewhat of a crap shoot in terms of classing.
Weight/power ratio is hard enough to police. leave it at that plus maybe have some +/- index for tire type. + 2 seconds for DOT slicks + 4 seconds for full slicks. That would make it fun at least, but add some busy work.
+ What kind of sense does it make to have a weight/power class and then penalize for Turbo?
Best bet would be to keep similar rules to NASA/NARRA that way it carries over easily and you get more crossover people. OOOHHHH I so can't wait to do a TT again at Barber!!!!!!! It's been since 2008. But can't do this year because I will be at the F1 race in Austin.

I told you I would be there. I doubt they get contingency in place before then considering I don't think the racing has any contingencies. That won't be a factor for me. Just sounds like a fun event.
