Winerfest related: 2 weeks ago tonight we took the checker on the 6 hour day/night enduro, in 8th place overall. I am so proud of my client/co-driver/friend Brian and our crew!!

What kind of times did the 101 put down? I spent a day riding around with Brian in December.

2.7 non-S Boxster, 3100 lbs. Car will likely do a 2:28 as is...but not for 6 hours. My plan was steady 2:30's and 2:31's during my 2 stints, and that is what I did. He was a few seconds above that, also consistent per our pre-race plan. The only thing that diverged from plan: he qualified the car & was (obviously) going to start. At the last minute, I was asked to start instead.

The car seemed amazingly well setup, great dampers, great handling precision...but couldn't believe how much 2nd was needed, and how boggy 3rd gear was if you were just below the power curve. I guess that's a characteristic of that engine/chassis.

Yeah, it's only a 5 speed, so gear spacing is sub-par for track work...and it is H--E--A--V--Y... So I had nothing coming out of corners, whether in 2nd or 3rd, and really could only close on people on corner entry. I started using 3rd in some of the previously 2nd gear corners, and just carried a lot more speed in so as not to bog the motor on exit. Seemed to work ok!

Thanks, man! Actually, I have coaching commitments here in Texas next week, so I won't be at Sebring for either.

Good luck to you on your debut!!!!

Chasing Randy around Sebring. I think. Who knows? They all drive white RS's.... Assumed it was him by the 2 off dusting technique employed out of T5.

Nice drive...You are flying in T1...you are a good 3-4 mph better than me there but hard to tell from the audio and since you are not showing the OBDII throttle graph but maybe a tick earlier get on the throttle at T1 Apex, same after apex of T3 go full throttle....I hit 74mph before quick brake tap for T5.

Did you ever compare the data I sent you? We need to do that. I know for me I need to pick up a couple MPH in T1, T13 and T17.

Mike I concur with your assessment on 1 and 3 Dawg carries very good entry and mid corner speed but is a little lazy on getting on the throttle after apex. I don't want to make him any faster as his head is already swelled enough.

Default winterfest.....

After a 1.5 year hiatus I decided to drag my RS out of storage and send it from cold *** Canada to sunny Florida to enjoy Sebring for my first time.

As rusty as i may have been and lost as i was on the track it was still truly a good time with great people all doing the same thing...
Highly recommend it!

I look forward to my return in April!
