attended a Porsche launch event for the 991 some time back, where they had Porsche Motorsport drivers do lapping for guests (several Porsche Cup drivers, and even an ex F1 driver).

they all said that they would take the GT3 in a heartbeat over the 991.

agree with the comments that a PDK, PCCB, MPSC equipped 991 is probably faster than a 997.2 GT3. But FASTEST can be one thing, and FUNNEST is sometimes another.

It is hard to explain in words -- If there is such a thing as some cars have more 'soul' than others, the GT3 is one of those.

I got something quite different from everyone here from the article. I came away simply thinking "wow how good will the 991 GT3 be then". Guess Ill have to wait till the end of next year to find out. On the stats side given what has been recently unveiled about the 991S ring times Id have to say it will likely be a 7.28-7.30 Ring lap (similar to 2009 GTR). Likely better than 997.2 GT3RS. I expect it will be easier to achieve that time than every before.

All in all what Im reading bodes very well for the 991 GT3 being an awesome package.

tiff is always amusing to watch. Sounds like a good car - cant wait to get my first test drive in one.
