Track Wheels for 2007 GT3
Has anyone had any issues with the OZ Allegerita wheels being used on the track? I am needing a set of 18" track wheels and like the price point. Other option would be HRE R40s however way more money.
Opinions and thoughts welcome. Will also buy used
Thanks

Seen a few guys use them with no issues. I ran the same wheel but with center lock on my GTS no issues. Also look for a set of CCW...used they are around $2k or new they are $2800. CCW are forged light and strong. The OZ is not forged, it's cast and heavier. Up from there is Forgeline which is what I am using again.

Love them.
I have used them on my previous car (2005 C2S) and currently on my 2007 GT3. I have the Allegerita's and CCW's and these are used exclusively as my track wheels (30 track days per year) and no issues. They are very light - not sure the CCW's are lighter. Forging does not make a wheel lighter per say.

Thanks Mike. Are you running DOT R compounds? If so what is the tire of choice out there? I have competed for many years in Autocross and Hill Climb on A6s with an 82SC, however wondering about tires for the GT3 on the track?

I love my Alleggerita's. 8.5x11
I run goodyear eagle rs dot 245/295 and the gt3 you can fit 335 on the back. Cheaper, faster and last longer than hoosier r6. Only problem is distribution.

You order directly from CCW at http://www.ccwheel.com
Most guys run the C10 and those are $2800/set... superb wheel for kind of pricing.
They are very well reviewed - lots of sets floating around that have been tested and tested again. I have had 2 sets of CCWs and if I needed another set of wheels that there was not an off the shelf solution for, they would be an absolute no brainer.

No dealers for CCW, you buy them direct. Complete Custom Wheel is the company's full name. Ordering is easy just tell John that you have a GT3 and want 9x18 and 12x18 in GT3 spec. He knows what to do. the Corsair 10 and Y2K are really nice. If you want to go up in cost then Forgeline is the best in my opinion with the GA3R and there mono block G1R. Look for Jeff from Pacific Western Performance on the forum and you will see his banner on the forum. Total top notch guy.
As for tires I'm back to using Toyo R888 in 255/35/18 and 315/30/18. Some use Nitto NT01 and some have found some left over Toyo RA1 in 245/305 18" sizes. If you are trailering then Hoosier R6 or BF Goodrich R1.
