Ignoring the fact that it is school holidays in the UK and kids get bored, there was a test in French magazine Flat 6 done in 2006/7 where they did a thorough comparison of the GT3 and RS.....
I no longer have the copy but remember being totally gobsmacked that they saw speedo readings of 337kph for the GT3 and 334kph for the RS on the autobahn......
Allowing for a dose of speedo error it seems possible that these are capable of cracking 200mph - good aero and proper horse power

You guys could come and try Brainerd, it has a mile long straight after a pretty high speed turn 10 then on to a banked turn 1. I've seen an 154 indicated before my skirt flies up and I slow a bit for T1.

OP silliness aside..
On my RS (which came Nav-equipped), the speedometer has been consistently fast by just less than 3 mph, from 30 mph through (at least) 120mph. On my car, it hasn't been a percentage discrepancy, but a fixed amount.
GPS speeds (which matched, though updated at different rates) were from Garmin nuvi, Escort 9500ix and another piece of user equipment all in the car at the same time.
I'd assumed that the speedo used GPS data with a delta to achieve their goal. Now I'm wondering if that is only with Nav-equipped cars. I'll have to try it in the CR.

That the speedo's off is no secret. NJ-GT and a host of others have already answered your question to the tee. Speaking from experience, I've gotten up to an indicated speed 310kmh but my GPS record on a SmartyCam never exceeded 290kmh in those runs.
Now please just take the answer and go. Curiosity is a good thing but you've overplayed your hand (and our patience) by a country mile already.

LOL...Tcs you should be banhammered for even finding that picture....let alone posting it.
Who has a picture of a Carp as their desktop background....
But I admit it is thread appropriate.
