Thank you Deputy for bursting Izzone's 'purity bubble' that only low optioned gt3's deserved a privilege status on this forum. A cursory look at the gt3RS Registry reveals that even gt3RS's are more often than not loaded with options by the folks that ordered them from factory. So the 'purist' are in a minority and the free market (people's right to use their money as they see fit) has spoken loud and clear!

I have never understood why people object to combining performance with beauty & style! Does the deviating stitching on a gt3 weigh more than the standard grey thread? How many pounds does leather add instead of the standard 'heavy' vinyl Porsche uses? Does PTS in Riviera, Mexico Blue or Pastell Orange slow down the gt3 RS at speed?

Even Mooty, who ordered Izzone's gt3RS, failed to delete A/C on his car. That added 30+ pounds to his vehicle. Let those that live in glass houses not throw the first stone! Perhaps even low-option fanatics in this forum should ponder what Cup car owners that I know often ask of you that have compromised by taking a great series production road car and dedicated it mostly to track use. "Why on earth would one order a gt3 when you can have a Cup car?" I can't answer that one.

Saludos,
Eduardo

Stitching doesn't add extra weight. Leather looks nice, wears well, and smells good. Radio weight is negligible so why delete it? It nothing else these things will help resale. At the end of the day, its still got a license plate on it so it's a street car first.

+1.... These are all street cars, not race cars. Stereo, leather and some nice colored stitching will not slow the car down.

+1, post of the year
Never understood why people insist others use the cars the same way they do.
My POV is that when it is YOUR money and YOUR car, do whatever the f you want to do with it.

By the way, Ford has started to provide deviating stitching on its faux leather center console! The photo is of a Ford Fusion but it's the same thing as a Taurus! A 'Ford Exclusive' division can't be far behind!

Default Update on Pastell Orange '11 gt3

I was trying to beat traffic through Carmel on Saturday while coming back from Laguna Seca on a congested US 1 and found the Pastell Orange '11 gt3 parked on a remote street in the village! Niello's website still shows it as 'available':

http://niello.porschedealer.com/preo...27709/info.php

So Niello (or the actual owner if on consignment) must have borrowed it from the showroom in Rocklin and took it to Carmel for the weekend of the Historics!

Eduardo

Larry: Which steering wheel were you expecting to see on this base gt3 MY2011?

Also note that Niello has dropped the asking price of this car by about $7,000 since it first listed it.

Hi eduardo, I always believed that the '11s had matte black plastic vs the "shiny" silver/titanium plastic of the '10s ...

I wouldn't let that stop me from buying it though!

I would not be surprised to see that price drop a little more ... if I had a spare 120k though it would be gone by now!

While we are on the topic of PTS orange, this car has been in the pits for a few years at the Races. I am not sure of the color but it is more of a tangerine orange, and noticed this year that it has a unique, possibly leather to sample interior of a dark navy blue with yellow stitching. I am almost 95% sure it's yellow and not matching orange which would seem to make more sense..
