How often should the nuts be disassembled and regreased?

GOOD question. I think Porsche says every time wheels are changed. This is not so easy to do when you are swapping wheels multiple times per day. My guess is most of us are routinely applying a thin film of grease to the conical surface, and every few switches getting more thorough.

I re-grease the conical surface at every wheel swap.

I take the center lock nut apart about every 2 DE weekends....that could be 2 de days or 4 de days...or if I have not done a de in around 3-4 months and just street driving I will take the center lock nut apart before I install my track wheels.

In addition to a thin film on the conical surface, I also put a thicker layer on the inner threads of the hub. Porsche instructions call for a thicker layer of the "lithium goop" on the threads of the CL, but this can't be done effectively unless you break it apart, so applying it directly to the hub is the (easier) alternative.

I definitely do not support that Porsche deciced to put these on street cars. But saying that, i'm with Savyboy and Trakcar that if done properly and inspected, it's not a big deal to work with these things. I still think if you don't pay attention to the equiptment you run at the track, you're an f'ing idiot.

Grease the conical surface of the hubs every single change. Pull the nut apart after every DE weekend. Replace all parts if you see signs of wear or fatigue (and call it day until new part are on the car). I have and extra set of hubs with me at the track should anything need to get changed out from the axle back to the CL nut. Not saying you need to go that far, but you definitely change the oil when it need changing, right?

oh, and the comment about the grease on the hands - mooty - your're hands have been in dirtier places

Buy 50 surgical gloves for $7.99 and throw one on to grease up the nuts. OK, that didn't come out right, but you get the point.

Yes, but Sebring is very easy on equipment.....

The tech told me it really depends on how often the nut is removed and retorqued.
The tech gave me a 11 page printed copy of WM440519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING WHEEL WITH CENTRAL BOLT.

Note within these instructions it states : "The three reserve bores (within the cone ring) must be filled so that they are 1/3 to 2/3 filled with grease." Thus caution not to overgrease is important.

if using the car for road and track, especially often, then a 5 lug conversion makes just as much sense as the calliper stud conversion.

Id be hauling off centerlocks for my type of use.

PS- I have a set of 4 brand new, never installed, silverish-grey color (not black or red) CL nuts for sale. Complete assembly, includes guts, unlike the red CL nuts. $650 includes shipping anywhere in USA.

IM or email me.
