Here are the images. It will certainly be harder to see a GT3 from an S with this $KIT$. The ducktail has an odd appearance being rather close to the upper element and having such a raking angle. I didn't want to believe it, because it looks like two ideas stacked on each other without much visual continuity. The retro half pipe detracts from the rump.

Retro half pipe? I think you coined a new name for the ducktail. I like it!

Maybe they're going to build the 991 GT3 Sport Classic Edition first?

I'm pretty sure now that you're right the wing can't be those two unrelated forms ....
But I think it would look super cool if the wing became/fused with the ductail when 'down' but mirrored it when 'up'. Still would prefer an Aero-motion type adjustable ... but let's not think too far ahead

ps - Nice spotting Nizer

Hope the RS wing is more dramatic and carbon fiber!

My question would be, does that wing combination produce more downforce than the old wing? If it does, then the issues around looks aren't as important, IMO, although a more dramatic wing would be prefered. But if it doesn't, which just from the size of it seems possible, then something else is in the works and we're just seeing the aerokit wing for testing and not the final GT3 version. It's hard for me to imagine Porsche going with a setup that produces less downforce on the new car......

Just noticed the center locks don't have dust caps. If the dust caps are so gosh darn critical, why don't the development engineers have them on?

More marketing ridiculousness exposed.... I'm just say'n

Or maybe they don't drive the same car in all kinds of weather for 5 years in a row?
Or they don't care stuff wears out prematurely when dust/sand gets in there because it is a development car and it will be sent to the scrapyard in 3 months anyway?

Just making light of my travails with the dust caps.

I would bet it's more likely they don't use dust caps because under extreme track or test driving they pop off!

Can't imagine Porsche would even dare release a GT3 that looks like that picture, which is exactly what it looks like.

But the center exhaust and centerlocks still give it away for me. I still don't think Porsche is going to offer Centerlocks on the base S, they save it for the super expensive 991.5.

I think it's a GT3 with the base aerokit as Camo.

To be clear, the images are of a 991 S with the aero cup package, supposedly a $6K option.

Really ?
Wasn't aware that 991S' came with centerlock wheels, center exit exhaust and lowered ride height

Also, if it IS just a 991S with Aerokit why the camo ???

The first gen 997 GT3 also shared an aero kit with her less hardcore sisters. I would not be surprised if Porsche releases this as the 991.1 GT3 package. It's typical Porsche to start a new generation model a bit tame and then build it up from there. For example, 996.1 vs outgoing 993; 997.1 vs outgoing 996.
