That's funny but I have two specific mottoes that have guided me.
1. Sua Sponte (Ranger motto: "of their own accord")
2. "Chance favors the prepared mind", Louis Pastuer. It kept me alive in combat even under the most insane situations.

Peter transfer the pics you posted earlier that I sent you over to this thread. The studs are cool. As I understand are normally threaded 25 mm into the case and these go 40 mm.

Regarding the project, this is all being done/handled by extremely capable and qualified local individuals. No outside tuner or engine builders.
It actually will not be 90 days before completion.
The engine will be fully built by tomorrow then will be engine dyno broken-in.
The gear chart has been decided and Guard is restacking the entire gearbox and did the LSD. Keeping the stock 3.44
Ohlins (4 way) are soon to arrive.
Still working on a smathering of light weight body parts but truly to not want to mix up the RS. True bottomline desire is to keep it era specific and a "sleeper".
All the insulation stuffing was removed and the carpeting placed back. Looks stock again.

More to come.

Ranger, do you think this car would be faster at Sebring than a 4.0RS?

Looks nice

I wonder how the engine will hold up with 100 or so race hours

Sir we will see. Absolute no claims or bragging here sir, not my style. Never pretentious, just the facts. I have driven competitively in the 90's (SCCA & IMSA) but now am an old warhorse at 62 so am not as fast
Hopes/plans are after initial track shakedown are to take a 3.8 RS, 4.0 RS and my RS to Sebring with Lucas Luhr as the shoe to do a comparison.
Am discussing this with Champion Motorsport to get this accomplished.

We will see.

Love the carpet mod!

Will pulling foam / sound deading cause the carpet to lay funny?

I'd be scared of that, but scared ain't in rangers vocabulary...

I think it would be unrealistic to expect it to last that long. Probably an honest 60 hours of hard, on-the-rivet use. Or 150k miles.

Subscribed. Neat project.

So the car only made 385 to the wheel stock on a RS?

Yup, there abouts.

Will get pics of the interior when completed but the carpeting went back in looking OEM. Total of 20 lbs of sound deadening material was removed.
I guess I could have dieted and gotten in better shape.
