DIY Rss 930 roll bar question
I posted on 6speed and i didnt have answer. Can you install the 930 hybrid roll bar from rss without triming the wire loom plastic cover. I want to know if someone try it with success. Each time i look at pics of installation i never see that step in the installation.

Mine fit in without trimming anything...even fit in a sunroof car...it's tight up top cut to the sunroof but fits.

Thread resurrection!
Anyone with any new experiences? It seems I'm about to go ten rounds with this bar next weekend and am trying to avoid any RSS haymakers.
Tips? Do I need ratchet straps?
Trim wire loom plastic cover?
Thanks for any input.

You need to read and view the above.
Cut the plastic, no question about it.
Use the stud method. Pure genius.

Thanks! I looked at these before but there are still others out there that say you don't have to cut the plastic. I want to do it right, but seems like an unbelievable amount of deconstruction to cut two small plastic pieces.

Philip,
I instAlled an RSS bar myself, and I also thought that it appeared to be more trouble than it was worth to deal with the plastic sill.
The reality is that the plastic sill under the carpet is quite stiff and even if crushed under the bar connection points, the bar is so tight fitting (in a good way) that the bar will be cocked in its final fitting, making it very difficult to get the final fasteners threaded properly.
It's not that much more trouble to do it right.
