Newbie here, just sold my Caymas S and should pick up my GT3 tomorrow evening, just cant wait!
I have been a member of Planet 9 for a while now, but as its more Cayman focused i have joined this forum.
The GT3 is something i have always dreamed of, remember having pictures of Countach's, Ferraris on my bedroom wall, but the one i always had my eye on was (if i remember right) an old, ducktail Porsche....
the car is standar, at the moment and i dont intend pushing the power too much, maybe a flash, cold air induction etc.....any thoughts on what would be a good start?
Always nice to hear a new owner having dream become reality. I too had the same dream and experience.
My GT3 has brought me many adventures and good times.
The only things you might want to do to your GT3 would be a Sharkwerks muffler Bi-pass and a set of front grill screens. That is basically it. No tunes, no headers etc.... Keep it simple.
If you intend on visiting the track a few times, you will want some seats, Harnesses/Harness bar, fire extinguisher and a proper corner balance/wheel alignment. Dont forget a good set of track ready pads and proper brake fluid upgrade either.
If you intend on hitting the track often, you will want to replace your LSD and your rear toe links.
Calliper stud kit and wheel stud kit will also be a wise move.
I highly recommend the 996 Cup car shift cable upgrade. Id say your factory 997 street cables are a little sloppy by now. This will help make your shifter more precise.
Wow, thanks for all the responses guys... well after driving it last night for the first time, im not sure i will need any mod's, at least for the time being
The car has Alcantara buckets (think thats what you call them)
Have been looking at the Sherkworks muffler bypass, but dont want the car too loud..... you get enough stares in Dubai as it is, mostly from jealous holidaymakers......
Dont really intend tracking the car too much, dont have the time with work and family commitments, but may take it for a few laps round the autodrome here.
