Not that I know of, you are spposed to change the bolts each time, but not the studs and bolts, at least I have never..

Fellas, the oem hex bolts on the 997.1 pccb cars and 997.2 steel/pccb cars are about 63mm long at the front and 95mm at the rear... If the 997.1 steel set up uses the same length bolts, all is good but the GT3 PETs suggest the 997.1 steel cars use different part numbers for their bolts....

Hi - my comments below are purely to provide some technical data - they are not an endorsement or criticism of any specific RL sponsor vendors ...

I ordered a set of studs from Eduardo at Orbit for my 997.1 (2007) steel brake (eg. not PCCB, never has been) GT3. I did this mostly because he was confident that he had done the research to know the correct PN's to order from PMNA.

The studs arrived today - here are some photos.

Fronts - note one is missing the "microencapsulated" threadlocker. Locktite to the rescue ...

Rears -

Front dimensions - length overall and then minimum length acting as a bolt

About 94 mm long overall with a minimum useable length as a bolt (eg. M10 nut threaded all the way on til it hits the shoulder ...) of 74 mm. The nut is a little under 10 mm thick so if the nut was not threaded on all the way but was fully engaged on the thread that would be ~ like an 84 mm bolt.

The PCNA parts diagram at AutoAtlanta says the front "pan-head" screw for a steel brake '07 GT3 is 85 mm long. This will work for me.

The same parts list states that the screw for PCCB is 62 mm long. So the 65 mm effective stud used for PCCB setup or newer cards will NOT work with a steel setup. Or vice versa. I have yet to take my caliper off and measure my screw - will update my post when I do ...

Rear dimensions - same idea but 110 mm overall and about 90 mm minimum effective length as a bolt. 100 mm max effective length as a bolt if the 10 mm nut is just fully engaged on the threads.

PCNA parts diagram says the normal pan-head screw is 95mm - so this is fine.

The nut itself ... as already pointed out by someone else ... is not a lock nut (it theads on the stud very easily). So was curious why they are so expensive ...

It is an M10x1.5 flared base nut with a 15mm hex head. The overall thickness is just under 10 mm. The nut is steel and appears to be galvanized or otherwise passivated. The only unique feature I can see is that the outside edge of the flair appears to have been ground or machined. The diameter at this point is 19.9 mm. I suspect this is why these nuts may be expensize but haven't looked at standard size HW to see if that makes sense.

Someone else mentioned needing a thin-wall socket to fit in the caliper - so the clearances here are probably tight.

You can just make out the machining marks on the side of the nut in this picture.

In conclusion there certainly appear to be at least two different applications for the front with different parts required. Buyer beware. Eduardo at Orbit was able to get the correct part for me.

Hope this helps anyone going down this path.

Hey acadian dad, glad they were able to hook u up with the right parts... I was never given the part numbers for the fronts to suit the 997.1 as mine is a 997.2 but I knew guys would run into trouble using the parts I quoted for the gen2 cars considering the different part numbers in the PETs for the oem bolts between steel rotor models, thus the warning

Thanks for the meas's Dell. So it doesn't look like that front stud is going to work for your setup?

I have no idea at this point since i haven't installed them. However, from just eyeballing it, it does not appear that it is the correct length. I'll know more when I do the install weekend after next.

When I ordered mine, my PMNA ordering contact verified with them that these were for a 997.1 non-PCCB car. We'll see........

Update. It has been driving me nuts that I haven't installed these yet to confirm if they fit. The do NOT fit. The rears are perfect but the front are so short that they would be below the recess of the caliper! I contacted my parts guy at the dealer that orders my PMNA bits for me to figure out what went wrong. He verified with them that these were for a 7.1 non-PCCB car and they sent what I have in post #1. I'll update correct part numbers when I get confirmation.

Ok guys, so I've been this thread going on and even though I've been called names and so, I helped Craig from Rennstore with the Non-PCCB part numbers.

Here are the correct numbers:

999.061.007.01 - 2007 NON PCCB GT3 (front)
999.061.004.02 - 2007 - 2011 (PCCB or NON PCCB) Rear

999.061.003.02 - 2007 - 2011 PCCB or 2010 and UP PCCB or NON PCCB Front
999.061.004.02 - 2007 UP PCCB or 2010 and UP PCCB or NON PCCB Rear

I hope we have all clear now.

John, please make this a sticky so everyone knows the correct information.

thank you.
