Any reason to consider a spark plug other than the oem suggested Bosch?

Thoughts, experiences, etc

I know nothing and I did a search

Run without them this season, your car will be lighter, but I will be faster for sure.

I'm going to be doing mine soon. I have 20k miles on the odometer and the car is 5 years old. I believe the manual suggests 24k miles or 4 years. Here's a DIY for the 996 - should be very similar.

PJ, with all seriousness, just send Cheyne an email, he will know what works well.

he is all over the map... hence me starting this thread
my tech says he prefers the high grade NGK plugs

I thought I would check here... I am not sure there is a really a "performance" advantage or anything but I keep hearing the phrase "run cooler than the stock plug"

Charles thinks NGK
Cheyne originally suggested a plug from earlier turbo (runs cooler)

I am thinking the oem is a known entity at this point

why are you looking to change them? Age? Mileage?

That's the plan now
Cheyne and I were chatting about possible answers for Nigel's engine failure and plugs were a suspect

So I thought I would post here to see if there was an alternative to oem that offered some benefit

Given the lack of responses I agree with your sentiment
