Hey Hey. So I've been hanging around here for the past year learning everything I can about the 997 GT3's. I am now finally ready to buy! After looking at the typical Autotrader, eBay options, I figured that I would summon the "I know someone" power of Rennlisters to help me on my quest.
Originally I was looking for a .1 GT3, but have since decided to instead look for a .2 GT3 (most likely a 2010). My objective is to keep it under a 100k though. Best if its a private sale then I don't get hammered with sales tax. So if you or someone you know is thinking about upgrading your 3 to an RS, or just selling for that GT-R (
), then let me know. Any help or contacts would be appreciated.
Thanks a bunch!
Chris

I've be thinking of unloading my 2011 RS. Send me a message if necesary. I will tell you this if you are planning on tracking then you should go for an RS. It really is leaps and bounds above the standard RS; I almost made that mistake. If you get a non-rs be sure to get one with the rs bucket seats otherwise you wont be able to get a harness for the track and when doing those kind of speads its the only way to go. good luck. I'm selling mine for 135k. 5k miles.

Since I already have a dedicated Spec racecar to get my wheel-to-wheel racing fix, the GT3 will be a second car to have fun with up here in the GA mountains. I will also do a few DE's a year with it. I was debating for a long while about a .1 RS vs. a .2 3. Ultimately the 3 won out for a bunch of reasons.
I appreciate the offer for your RS, but as Traffic53 says...its not exactly a match for my budget.
As for an update I am actually working again with the dealer for final details on Red Bears 2010. If all goes well, I will pick it up tomorrow. Which is my birthday. Talk about an awesome present to myself!

So I picked up Red Bears former love, a 2010 GT3. I decided to try and make it "mine" by doing a little custom work with my products. Most of you may recognize the yellow headlights in ALMS or Grand-Am. Many times they are using Lamin-x yellow protective films to meet those regulations.
I started out with just straight "Tint" on the headlights, turn signals, and side markers. I love the look, but I use that combo a lot.
Everyone was pressuring me to put yellow on the headlights, because it just looks awesome. So I did that for day or so. They indeed look awesome, but didn't want to be hassled by cops. Especially when our plant is right next to the county sherriffs office!
I remember seeing the black trim on the Carrera Speedster headlights and thought something like that may look good. So now I have our clear film in the middle, but put our Tint film around the outer rim. I must say, in person it looks awesome. I may go a little darker on the rim and use our Gunsmoke instead though.

Thanks Paver. You probably already know all about this car! I'll be getting to know it more at AMP at the end of this month. In the meantime I need to wrap this thing with our paint protection film before it gets any worse.
