Depends what rpm you shift at. At 8500+, forget about it, even a stock 3.6.

These piston and liner kits are on the market...they are not unique to a specific tuner. Silverboy is using 106mm pistons, which gives you almost 4.1 liters. If he goes with an RSR crank, then he is looking at over 4.2 liters.

Serge is spot on. Throw in a RSR crank then it rises to 4.2L. Nice but my Fed chairman (wife) refuses to release more dough.

PJ - yes this is from Capricorn.

Mike - going that route would be too costly.

Cheers all,

You could cut RPM at 8200, torque drops off before and not much power above right?

With a build of this magnitude I imagine you'll need to retune the cam timing and ignition maps. Who're you using for the ECU reprog?

Do your crankcases need machining as mine did for the 4.0 kit.

Koro in Germany build 4.6 and 5.0 GT3 engines, very very rare though, only a few in the whole of Europe, never seen one myself.

GMG is doing the tune to match its 4.0L headers.

Dass - that's why I got the bores and cases from Capricorn. They'll do the machining. More expensive but I imagine better quality.

GuyR - 5.0L kit of Koro looks like madness!

What are 4.0L headers? What changes are made?
Header tubing diameter, exhaust tubing diameter, cats or no cats and center section resonator or none?
What will the exhaust port dimension be?
Will you be changing cam shafts?
I ask b/c I'm going through this right now.
I would post pics of what's been designed to consider using but still can't figure how to post pics.

All the best

Any change of posting what the estimated total cost of this project will be? 3.6'ers everywhere want to know.

I can not speak to the OP's build but it depends on how crazy and detailed one wishes to go. Don't know if OP is doing clutch to match or any tranny work?
I can tell you it's significant $$$'s but since I love my RS and will never part with it, hell what the heck. I compared other options, ie. GMG but preferred local and I know them very well (Champion Motorsport).
Prob for the buck the Sharkey 3.9L bore kit is the ticket.
If you wish to discuss PM me.
