Default Anyone have the skinny on removing a rear bumper?

Okay folks, my wallet is on life support at time point.
On the way:
1-Xpipes
2-RSS 930 rollbar
3-Schroth harnesses (GT3) Yes Dell, got one for the right seat too!
4-Porsche bucket seats (GT3)
5-Adjustable throttle pedal (Oh yeah! heal toe baby)
6-Magnetic numbers
7-New kitchen (well not yet.... but that's coming for sure)

So, anyone have a link to getting the rear bumper safely off the gen1 997-3?

you could search mikymu posts. I remember that he took off the bumper to replace it with the Euro version.

you need the funny looking screw drivers.
open trunk lid. take off those 4 or 5 screws that you see.
take off taillights. behind taillight is another screw.
under rear is a few more at bottom lip.
final screw at each end above tire.
then the whole bumper pops off.
unclip wire to license plate lights.
done.
very easy, takes about 15 minutes.

Doors are aluminum, your magnetic numbers won't work

Thanks. I'm on it!
The numbers will be taped along the borders with electrical tape. Got that tip from Randy Joe!

Yup, this is a big one Tim.

Doors and front hood will NOT accept the magnetic numbers. I used magnetic panels on my 6GT3 and used the black electrical tape around the border to prevent blowing off at speed. However, on the 7GT3 they won't even stick. I use vinyl numbers on the rear quarter glass now.

Don't even try the magnetic numbers (save them for the next car or see if you can cancel that order) as they will mar the paint if you try to use them as they will move around.

Don't be mad at me and Randy for laughing hysterically out loud.

We've all been through the wallet sucking stage. Some continually go through it. They key is to "non-mod"

Looking forward to checking out those right seat belts in May

You don't really own a car until you mod it - prior to that you're just renting.

The key is to buy a cheaper car that you can afford to mod....

Crap! Guess I'll stick the number to my fridge or my wife's highlander on charity laps.

+1 on location of numbers

If you missed time to order vinil numbers - just print your number in ms word with 500 size font and tape it from inside to rear window glass. Magnetic stuff comes off at speed.

Remove ALL the torx screws you can find! Top and bottom of the rear bumper, including few in the rear fender wells.

I used this SW install DIY with pics when I installed mine. Very useful.
