Default How many are running a 9.5" wheel on NB

Just want to know what best offset and tire size for this wide of a wheel.

I'm getting a set used and the fronts are 9.5" wide. Don't have offsets but they were for a 997 GT3 NB. They are E88's

Once again, insight appreciated.

I ran Forgeline 9.5" (+51mm) wide on a 997.2 GT3 and never had an issue but this was with a track alignment. Standard tire size up front, no oversize rubber.

9" wide is all you really need for DE's unless you are doing suspension work and running -3 camber. 245 or 255 wide tires fit great on 9" wide wheels at -2.5 camber with just using shims on the control arms. If you are a grea driver and need more front grip and trying to run 265 or more on the front then do the suspension mods and use a 10" wide wheel.

FYI 265/30R19 can fit on a 9"-10" wide wheel.

Yes but 10" wheel better for 265 size.

Why? Tire Rack specs that size on a 9.5" wheel which is probably the data provided by Michelin. 1/2" one way or another isn't going to make that much of a difference. A 265 width tire would be perfect for his front wheels provided the offsets are correct.

every tire is different. Even with the same spec size, if you measure them, they have big differences in size.
As long as you can keep them inside your fenders, you're good, maybe need a gurney, but our cars benefit from big tires for sure.
Take a look at the yellow Manthey 996 at Orbit, and you will figure out why a car like that does those times.
Huge downforce + big tires + power + Manthey Magic = stupid fast Bettles.

Better to stretch be on the widest wheel for given size...if that wheel fits on the car. I'd love to run 265 up front...that would be awesome

The NB and WB 997 are the same in the front axle, and identical to Boxster/Cayman 987.

10"x18" with 285/30R18, anything less is giving up.

LOL...so on my lowly GTS which has stupid Carrera S suspension other than the adjustable lower control arms I installed...how the heck would a wheel/tire combo of 10x18 with 285's actually fit?

Seems like I'd need some serious suspension mods correct?

i am with rad. i went up to 9.5" on 996gt3. if i do again, it's going to be 10". WIDER IS BETTER.

if anythign rubs, just add more camber, rip out the fender liner and roll the damn fender lips while pulling them out.
rad taught me well.

Come on guys, somebody help me out.

Will a 9.5" wheel fit on the 997.1 GT3 with any issues. I'm not into rolling fenders or pulling liners. I am into turning struts, shimming and camber up to 2 degrees.

I don't have the offset but lets just assume that they are the perfect offset for a nb car.

WILL IT FIT!

Thanks again!

No, under your restrictions. Stick to 9" or smaller wheels.
