Default Brake fluid flush

My .2 gt3 is due for a brake fluid flush. Should I consider other fluid options, like ATE 200 for example. I do not track but have fun on the weekends . The cost is very similar; thought I'd ask.. Please, no flames .

Unless you're tracking the car, OEM fluid is just fine. Our brakes should be flushed every 2-3 years.

I have 5600 miles, 2 year point, with no track days, but spirited weekends. Can I wait three years?

You can, but shouldn't. The service interval on the 997 should be every other year. An indy should will charge about $125. A dealer will be over $200.

I know some guys like to use different fluids each time so they can see a visible color change, and know the old is flush through, but don't quote me on this, as it's above my pay grade.

^ Ha, thanks!

Yeah, probably do a factory fluid flush. My P dealer "only" charges $90.00.

That's a very fair price for a P-dealership. Make sure they stamp that page in your book.

The reason you need to flush the brake fluid is due to mositer that gets into the system. Flush every 2 years for street driving...Porsche OEM fluid is fine for the street.

Any Porsche Euro car service center can do this...the dealer way over charges for $20 of fluid and 30 minutes of time.
