I believe Manheim has now separated results for GT3/RS. These I'm pretty sure are GT3 only.

Well they separated them in the MMR breakdown. Guess they're not separated yet. My bad.

Mannheim is a VERY HIGH level look
at prices as u don't know history. there's a reason why cars end up
at auctions. of course there r exceptions but I'm
talking about averages.

no one said gt3 worth 120
I'm saying if u r ready to buy then RS is 120
gt3 is 100. then adjust it up n down by 10 or so. I've tracked gt3 prices since 2004.
use rad's formula. u will c it is very close to my general rule.

r there good and slightly below mkt car? yes.
geisha was one
I like the buyer
he understands the car
money wired in three hours after I hung up the phone.

Buy the car not the color is advice that I received when looking at used cars... I think it is good advice. Your cobalt next to an exact spec identical condition white/silver/red/black etc... Maybe it brings the money and maybe it doesn't. It is not my preference of the colors listed so I would not pay over for blue BUT there certainly are people that would. I like blue Porsches - I had a 1 of 5 lapis blue 996 gt3 but I bought it because it was local not because it was blue.

If you are buying new and ordering, then by all means get whatever color your heart desires and wallet can stand.

Cash in hand works. Understanding the car and the seller works for a buyer and vice versa.

My name is now Reter and I already sent Mooty a check for the 4.0. It's not that I am offering to little, it's just that I am offering too soon. The check is permanently good. Just a matter of time.

That is the same way I bought my 07 GT3. I made the offer and told him he's have a cashiers check for the buying price within an hour after PPI (Local seller). He called and I did, just took him 3 months to make up his mind :-)

Mooty seems to be in it for the long haul. What is it now, 6 months??
My near term hope is he will build a retro tech early 911 wich of course is the right thing to do. Or he waits for the 991 GT3, but that seems like a long shot.

I'm considering swapping my 2010 GT3 for an RS as well. Would love to do the deal for 20k.

ooooo

Thank you all for help/input in gaining some understanding of 997 GT3 market valuations.

Assume it safe to say that price range for clean, 'low' - sub 5k - miles 2010 model, would be:

GT3 $90-100.

GT3 RS $110-120.

--------------------------

The red GT3 on Ebay, 7k+ miles. Seems very nice condition, and color (except for std seats)

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...t_30915wt_1165

Two requests here:

1) What would be a reasonable offer for that car ?

2) There is white 2009 model year GT2 (unlisted on web). One owner, 15,500 miles. May sell for $120, or $115. Would this be good deal, better purchase than a 2010 GT3. Or they are highly un-comparable!

oooooooo

I haven't seen anything close to sub 100K for clean with less than 5K miles. Manheim auction is wholesale dealer values and trade in values not what you can get without a dealer license or finding a really desperate seller.

As far as this GT3, you might get it for 100K, it is CPO so not a bad deal at slightly less than the buy it now price, maybe 100-103K. Dealer cost is probably around 95-97K.

But hey, what do I know, make them an offer, they can only refuse it or accept it!

Thank you Montoya, Mike.

Interest in GT3 is very recent, so my comprehension of the car, its development, pricing is far from anything like complete

You both probably right, in that prices should be higher than the ones I mentioned in my last post. Yet, as info keeps coming in about this car, I wonder if it will make more sense to wait for the new 991 GT3. Expected to debut within few months time!

There is an excerpt from an interview - on another RL 991 thread - with Mathias, Porsche CEO, mention (in 10/2011) that the new GT3 may be introduced as early as mid 2012!

Taking clue from 991 Carrera figures. A 991 GT3, could be an even better type GT3 than current model. Expected: 450hp, 45kg (100 lb) lighter, wider wheel base, etc. Not to mention "7-Speed" trans!!

Yeah, bought my GT3 pristine condition for $106,000. Already had a full clear bra. Has 11,500 miles but thats okay. I know many dealers are selling 95-110. RS is a different story, I try to avoid car that have already been tracked so there isn't many RS's to choose from. There is about 5 very nice, non track RS's that I have found and they have low miles. Price range for those was about 130-155. Byers imports is selling a RS.1 with 12,000 miles for 114,000. There is also a 2008 and a 2010 there. 2008 is 95 and 2010 is 114. These are both 15,000 mile cars though. Heres the link if you wanna check them out. http://www.byersporsche.com/index.htm They are located in Columbus, Ohio. I know it would be a long haul to get those things to you from cleveland area but I think it would be worth it!
