Dynamic Engine Mount Retrofit- Yes!
I just wanted to post a new thread on retrofitting Dynamic Engine Mounts for future reference since there is some incomplete information posted elsewhere.
First thing: On a 997.2 GT3, can you retrofit Dynamic Engine Mounts?
Yes! As long as you have the wiring in place. Above the normal engine mounts is a plug zip tied up for the DEM, if you have that, you are good to go. In another post is a picture of what this looks like:https://rennlist.com/forums/8626267-post29.html
What's required: New DEM's (duh), plus a DEM controller. This last item was a surprise to us, since it has been undocumented previously. The DEM's cost around $1100 and the controller is approx. $710.
The parts bolt and plug into the wire harness that is already there, programming to recognize the new mounts and you are good to go.
Total cost with about 5 hours shop time is $2500. I had mine done at Sunset Porsche. Suncoast has done several.
Maybe someone here with access to the parts catalog can look up the part numbers for future reference.
How does it feel? Of course I think it makes a difference (justifying my purchase!), but seriously, I did have the car for a week without them and now with them the drivetrain just feels more solid and perhaps a little smoother.
Good luck!

Montoya and slow: thanks so much for this! I've gone back and forth about doing this since buying my car. Luckily I made sure the pig tails were there before I bought the car so it's always an option. Now if we could only get a little more detailed info on the coding as that was the one part the dealers and shops seemed a little perplexed by. Sticky maybe?

I spoke with Phil at Suncoast and the master tech at Sunset, apparently all you need to do is enable the DEM option in the controller. Either dealer will be happy to help your local dealer with questions since Porsche doesn't provide tech support on this retrofit. My dealer talked to Suncoast since my car was their first retrofit. They will be happy to do more!
Good luck!

Suncoast was great when I called them to do my initial research. Thanks for the heads up.

Great writeup. Just checked my car and it does have the pigtails. So it's basically a $1000 penalty for the retrofit (versus factory option). Thanks for sharing this info.

Could a Suncoast retrofit kit be far behind?

Anyone knows if the same could be done for TT cats that some came with and some without dynamic engine mounts?

Can it be done on a 997.1 lowly Gt3?

No. In the .1's, it was never a factory option. In the .2's it was an option and the wiring harness is in place so you just have to install them, plug them in and code them to work.
