Ice Mode can happen and even more so with the use of different diameter tires.

The car in the picture had track wheels and may have had larger size tires then spec which would cause ABS ice mode.....

Since the damage is replaceable body panels and glass it is actually not as bad as one would think.
And since the car was not upside down and the damage was caused by rubber tires it is a very workable car.

If factory hood, lid, and roof were used for repair it could see a $100k sale compared to past $120k no-hit market comparable..... With the carbon bits it will see less residual given the history, perhaps $90k territory.

As soon as a RS sees paint and replacement panels the resale dips....

So $79k is a good price point for an unmolested .1RS.

where do we draw the line on "molestation"? just curious, I'm shopping a little

and while the .1RS in Silver/Orange is the most rare - I'd have to have Green, followed by Orange. I'm passing on silver

for me if the car is fix right it I will buy it discounted. My first GT3 was a Porsche press car that had 3 corner damage as a result of an off at VIR with a magazine guy from the UK at the wheel. It enabled me to get a"new car" with new body panels, warranty, lease money, and $40K off MSRP. I tracked the **** out of it put on 60,000 miles and gave it back. I would do it again in a minuteThe key is to spend the time and money for a very detailed PPI. I passed on a 997GT3 as the repairs were cosmetically fine but poor underneath.

Very informative everyone. I am looking for a '10 or '11 in Grey/Black with full leather along with other options. I am not going to track it except for the occasional DEs. This site is extremely helpful, and all off your combined experiences makes it easier in what to look for.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I appreciate your responses.

I would not buy a car without:
1: DME interrogation
2: Body PPI - wheel liners off-
3: Mechanical from dealer -
Car Fax is worthless -
Maybe leak down depending on milage and over revs.
All clean =market price: other than that all depends, have to consider finding a buyer when you are done with it.

Well, a virgin car is something retains stock parts and has never seen monoballs, roll bar etc....
A cherry virgin would still have O.E pads and discs....

Molested to "slightly" molested car would have one of the following or combo:

Aftermarket roll bar or welded floor plates (cut carpets)
software tuning
headers
shocks
aftermarket wheels
Body updating
monoballs

Nothing too serious of course..... alll can be returned to stock... but everybody like a virgin that was only used as a commuter car.

It is pleasant to see a high mile bone stocker nowadays

My car was far from stock, but not driven hard. PJS described my car as "a teenage virgin that grew up in a ***** house, that was about to get gang raped"

The point is, not all moded cars are abused...these cars need to be driven, garage queens don't perform well in the long term.

Im not afraid of a girl that has around the block......

I prefer to find them well prepped cause it saves money from having to duplicate it on a stock car.

The Fritz Flynn car has deal written all over it! Love it!
