eBay warning --> FL based GT3 RS for sale

Does anyone here have any info on this car. I have sent 2 emails through ebay and no answer as of yet. Interesting carbon fiber aftermarket options on it. If they are real and not a wrap.

Thanks,
Mark

Yes, they are.

With that far away and low res pictures, and they look rough, a closer inspection would only reveal even worse conditions.

Carbon fiber roof? This will need a close inspection, leaks, age of glue, why do people do this? the CF roof won't save more than 5 lbs and who wants razor CF bit in a rollover?

Worth not more than $110k in my opinion, assuming a safe leakdown test, and everything else checks fine.

I agree that the carbon roof makes no sense, the car came without a sunroof, why mess with it?

mrm 930 02-16-2012 02:32 PM

Obviously, been tracked hard. To proper do a CF roof - don't you have to remove the steel on first, then glue in the CF roof? Very extensive modification, if it is a CF roof.

Not very good pics. Still think that its a vinyl wrap. Never seen the engine cover in CF. If so, who makes this?

I am alittle leery of this one.

GMG actually makes a nice decklid in pre preg carbon...and a roof, but IMO they take away value from this car, along with the other items already mentioned.

Not vouching for this specific car, but GMG provides both the roof and deck lid in CF. Check out their website. I am not affilaited with GMG in any capacity.

Got beat to the posting above ^

Thanks,

Pics do not provide good views of the car. I like to see full frontal, side, rear views and 3/4 views of both sides from the front and from the rear.

The gap between the rear bumper cover and the engine cover looks to be uneven, wider on the passenger side, narrower on the driver's side.

If a seller can't respond to emails about the car... something's fishy.

Sincerely,

Macster.

If properly installed, the carbon roof is not an issue IMO.

The dot you can see on the ceramic rotor is a wear indicator. My rotors had those dots when I switched to steel on my previous car...

tcsracing1 02-16-2012 05:35 PM

the carbon parts are probably to make up for the front lift system.... LOL :)

I would request the stock hood and trunk lid.

the carbon roof takes 5-10k off the price.

What do you mean by this? My ceramic rotors have this dot, and had it even when there was minimal wear on the rotors. Rotors now have 4K miles - and about 10 track days - and still no significant signs of wear.
