RS 4.0 Decal Opinions Needed!!!
Hey everyone. My newest edition the Pastel Orange RS 4.0 has been redirected and will be shipped straight to me down in Florida! It was due to go to my house in Indy, but as I am down here for a month both testing and racing IndyCar stuff, I had it redirected to come to me so I can use it!
However this provides one challenge. I need to get it clear bra'd right away! I wasnt expecting this, so now I have a few decisions to make. Do I leave the stripes, do I remove them? Should I remove everything on the car stickers wise and have just an RS 4.0 made for the sides and back in black instead of red? I do think I will have some different brakes put on the car, and will try and get rid of as much red as possible. What do you guys think? Here is a picture of the car most of you have probably already seen. Thanks for the help!

Redo decals. All red becomes black. Or do as I did get rid off all decals and add decals a la GT2 RS in GT silver. Maybe just get rid of center decal and redo sides.
Brakes?? What do you mean?? Just get PFC08 pads good for at least 6 track days at Sebring. Everywhere else 8 to 10...SRF brake fluid. No problems. Maybe add Orbit brake calipers puck holders for when you burn off the seals.
I personally would make the wheels GT silver to match the wing end plates and mirrors. Redin mirrors, becomes orange.
Seatbelts all black, also oem's and door pulls. CS roll bar orange, maybe paint calipers orange..
GT silver BBS 18" for track duty
Oh, I want to have rights of first refusal on the car :-)

best to clear bra the whole car in all its glory. Decals and all.
IF you remove all the decals, you risk looking like a 997.1RS or a 3.8RS paint to sample.
For the future of this vehicle and resale it is best to keep all the 4.0L graphics.
Also, keep the brakes red. Panting them orange etc just hurts resale and originality.

Agree -- keep the decals. Keep in mind that the silver "whisker" decals on the front bumper are underneath the clear coat and therefore cannot be removed. The decals are signature 4.0 and therefore IMHO should stay on the car.

Agree with kyrocks, paver and the others. Keep it (as much as you can) factory original & as delivered. There are so many 997.1 gt3 RS that came painted in 'RS Orange' that it's better for you to leave all 4.0 distinguishing characteristics in place on this 'Pastell Orange' Limited Edition. All decals, etc. serve as a way to educate the general public (and the not-so-well informed Porsche enthusiasts) as to what sport vehicle they are admiring when you have it parked in public!

Most will say to leave it as is for resale but Id say enjoy your car how you want to and change the pieces or things you feel dont suit orange. If it was me, Id loose the red and keep everything else. toss on bbs motorsport wheels in silver an clearbra everything. Drop in the Clubsport cage and harness - Either way Im sure this will be a fun car to enjoy - good luck and have fun.

Wait, am I the first one to express curiosity about the "testing and racing IndyCar stuff"?
Did you recently have a car featured in European Car Magazine?
Anyway, lose the decals. The dive planes will let those who know what it is, the rest can wonder...
