Unfortunately, I don't have any experience with the CF or FG inserts for the 997, but I'm so **** I can't say that I would even consider those options, even for a 100% track car which mine will be. With the OEM piece in place - you'd never be able to tell anything was done....but that's just me... Ive seen the inserts on 964s and such, and quite frankly it looked like total crap.

Besides a 3.8-3.9-4l kit is always nice especially if you also remove 300-400 pounds from the 3.
John - yeah I know you were throwin crap from the other side of the pond...

300lb+ weight reduction is the goal...we'll see where it ends up.

It is the car in the back, I will try and find more pictures later. I am sure PJS will chime in as well with some.

thanks for the feedback, I saw a 997C2S with a conversion done on another forum, and they went with a insert. Still undecided, are you stripping the interior as well?

Yes... I plan on a GT3 parts garage sale at the end of the summer...interior, seats, wheels, brakes, etc... let me know if you might need anything. I have a used 997 cup frt. bumper here also if you know anyone interested.

Very cool.

I would get a transmission re-gear over the 4.0 R&P. With all that power, you'll have a useless 1st gear. I'm personally a big fan of a tall first gear and being able to put all the power down without wheel spin (on R comps at least ).

They were probably scared to death to do it the other way...for a 993 you have to buy the entire roof with pillars, and then use (remove) just the skin...the part comes delivered in a crate the size of a Prius. The 993 in my avatar was the one I did and it turned out flawless.

Agreed - but the 4.0 R/P was already in the car when I purchased it....may re-gear completely next year.

No, this was Gomez's Track converted C2S, I don't think he was afraid to molest it.

to OP -- good for you... it sounds as if it will be quite a car!

911 Slow, more of the 996 GT3 converted to RSR (no interior, full cage, seq trans, 3.9 SW that has been further modified, motec, etc)
