A number of 4.0 owners like the exhaust note as-is. Some, like you, have had .1 or .2 RS with bypass pipes.

Here is the silver on black on my RS4.0

 

Both black and silver look great. Silver obviously stands out more....but won't matchy match up with anything on my car.

Another nice touch, in a functional kind of way, it a windshield banner. KI Studio makes a black one with a PORSCHE cut out. Or just get black.

I have a plain black one on my car (added the lettering later for $$ to me), and it is just great. Sun never is a problem. I would recommend to anyone.

Yeah, I thought RS should be white red like most older ones and really tried to learn to like it but I could never get over the clown look..

When I got the chance to exchange for gold it was a quick decision.
