Default Sean Edwards RA ALMS Pole Lap

Impressive stuff. Appears to have a fair amount of understeer on turn entry. Should fuel the setup debate.

Love watching that guy drive! He pops up on RL periodically.

Note the left foot check for pad knockback at 0:24.

Looks like very mild understeer to neutral to me, plus he has multiple instances of oversteer to correct for. Contrast to our own Reter with unambiguous understeer in his videos.

The TPC approach: understeer that's corrected with throttle.

Edwards is the real deal, and a very nice guy.

Randy Pobst's comments about what he prefers in car set up have been circulating for years. He likes a predictable car: slight understeer at turn in, resolving to slight oversteer at track out. Seems he is not the only one to like this approach.

All the top folks do the left foot brake love-tap just before heavy brake zones. Watch Leh Keen...he does 2 or 3 every time.

Yeah, the left foot brake tap was interesting. Very cool and fast.

Great driving! Would someone mind explaining the purpose of the tap?

Thx,

FR

Just making sure there's pressure prior to brake zone.

Nice bit of oppo at turn 5.

The brake tap pushes the pads a little futher out from the caliper and increases the brake line pressure.

Couple of reasons. As Mike Klaskin says, making sure the brakes are working, and the pads & fluid are ready for immediate effect once the brake is applied.
