while I do not have the data at my fingertips, my "research" is quite similar

I am a relatively new tracker, having maybe 15-20 track days in two years, and still track my GT3 on "street" tires--Corsas or PSC2s--as I don't have the room for a trailer, and drive my car to the track (about 140 miles). I met a guy who drives his RS to the track with track tires, even in light rain. I would love to do this, but wonder if anyone else does this, or has. I really don't want to put a hitch on my car and pull tires, mainly because of aestethics and resale.

There are some in the NW that drive to the track on hoosier R6
Not many, but it is doable.

Simple, buy a trailer and store it elsewhere.

Very interesting data and answers a question that I have wondered about for quite a while.

It looks like 5s/lap - or, about 2.5s / min comparing Michelin slicks to MPSC. That is actually a smaller gap than I was expecting. I would have thought 6-8s / lap or at least 3s / min.

Would you say your slick time was representative of what the tire can do? I'm told they need some experience before you can get the most out of them.

Slick performance is most excellent.

Longevity ... not so much.

At Sebring the gap should be in the 6 secs territory, due to the longer racetrack, more turns and longer lap time.

I think we should develop a "Rad" app for the IPad

I think Rennlist should change its name to speculationlist specializing in predictive experts, my predictive best lap is xxxxxx. John and I will be driving and sipping Milkshakes at the slowcoast event. A lap drinking milkshakes........my prediction is 2:27 on RA1, but if the temperature is more similar to a March High well that is two or three more seconds per lap. If we put on slicks and drink milk shakes and smoke a cig that is blah blah blah blah!!! I think if John drinks milkshakes and lights a few cigs, his lap times should be faster than mine.

I'm bringing RA1s to the 48 Hour Slowcoast Parking Jamboree!!!

Why?
Are slicks used up?

Can I use camel back for shakes in car?
Might work better then cool suit in the summer.
If I'm nice and cool, I will be 1.85 secs faster at least.o

CC: What's the longevity of that slick flag in your avatar because I suspect the performance of what's behind it is most excellent?

Clearly your data doesn't lie. However, I didn't really notice much of a difference with the free slicks I got. Maybe they were smoked from being beat on by a cup car for 4 or 5 heat cycles. Didn't feel all that different from the Kumho or R6. They slipped and stepped out like any other tire. Then again, it's not really fair to make that judgement since I didn't get them new.
