the gap here should be about 2 seconds on a normal track, but is 5 seconds due to sectors 3/7 which include long bends and banking. sebring has more straights where the difference is equalised a bit more.

peter, with a clear track of course if that is possible, should see about a 2.5 sec improvement at the most, so maybe mid-high 2.16's, low 2.17's. depends how old they are and how much heat he can get into them without being stuck in traffic.
imo and with much speculation....!

There's no comparison.

6 seconds at Sebring over PSC's? Doubt it. Probably more like 3 with proper set up.

Blues take a bit different set up than other tires, including RA1's. And they take a bit different driving technique. More precise, a lot less sliding, more confidence required at entry in order to carry the entry speeds required to show their advantages. they will also take ~2 full laps to come in at a long track like Sebring this time of year. IMO, using them at a DE that is not SuperSolo is a waste.

Be careful. they are awesome, but they can bite.

To another point, I want to know is how did they manage to get a 345/30/19 on without any fender modification on an '07 GT3RS?

I would leave the slicks off until you see how the traffic looks after a couple of sessions

Slicks, Hoosier....and probably RA1 are too much tire for 48 hours

I say we all use Generals like Peters street tire.....make it challenging

Yes, that's why I line up first add a little too much air to RA1's and try to put half a lap on slick boy and have them chase me through traffic LOL.

When I had my first GT3 I bought 10 sets of completely worn out Hoosiers R6 for $250.00. Some lasted a day before cording some corded in the first session. It was cheap and fun to learn the car as it was different almost every session. After 2009 I have only driven RA1's including at Mosport, but our stach is running low fast.

Ranger, if you are asking NJGT I think he had made custom offset wheels to make that work. But it fits. FYI RA1's 335 run very wide and also fit, but that is 18". Erik will run those.

16K miles and they look like new! great for playing submarine in thunderstorms :-) Let's all go to $700.00 a set tires that will work in the rain and return probablya 2:40lap at Sebring

quick 'off topic' question: Do RA1's stick to the tarmac better then the R888 ?

Caveman stone tires stick better than R888......

RA1 I think is same stick as new R888, but grip is consistant to almost the cords, unlike R888 garbage that will snap the car

No. But they are more consistent when they get hot, and don't cycle out nearly as quickly.

Correct. Whereas the 888's will cycle out quickly & harden up while still looking OK.

There is a reason that Spec Miata's and Spec Boxsters have switched back from the 888's to the RA1's as their spec race tires.
