Default FVD 3.8 to 4.0 conversion kit?

Anyone seen this from FVD? Seems awfully cheap for the parts. I'm sure that a lot of labor is involved...

I got their email today on this mod. Just spoke to them yesterday on another topic but will need to call back to get more details.

Honestly, pistons still aren't cheap when you compare to other makes. There's a lot more to it than just buying a piston kit. Figure another 2k just for a basic gasket/bearing set. Don't forget the 100 hours of labor, either.

BTW, for a 4 liter, use Mahle pistons. I don't think the kits sold by FVD or cargraphic use Mahle.

Yup, custom Mahle 105.4 mm pistons and coated iron cylinders are approx. $7,700.

You should be able to get them for 6k including the capricorn liners, wrist pins, clips and rings.

Really? Damn. I'm very happy....VERY happy. But with factory 4.0's over $200k, that's worth looking at if you have a .2 RS

So, they leave the pistons/cylinders alone and add the longer stroke crankshaft? Or maybe they just provide a crate motor from the 4.0 and take your 3.8 as a core?
