I wonder from a marketing perspective, what percentage of GT3 ownership is represented on this board alone. PAG PCNA should just open a "suggestions" thread here

total majority of people do not track their cars, nor do they care of all those gizmos/changes, techniques, etc.

Three Wheelin'
- single clutch sequential shifter (599GTO, Scuderia, Aventador, GT3 Cup style)
- aluminum body
- bigger/taller rear carbon wing
- lower/deeper front rubber splitter
- GT3 RS 4.0 wider dive planes
- 9A1 engine with 9,000rpm redline, 4.2L and 525Hp
- 5 lug bolts
- Guards LSD
- 7-speed close ratio transmission, we don't need to save fuel with a GT3, that's what Priuses are for, a tall 7th is crap
- Carbon one piece not reclineable seats, with carbon mounting brackets, and multiple holes for angle adjustment
- bigger brake cooling ducts, and smaller/lighter rotors
- lighter calipers
- 18" wheels, we don't want 19" or 20" wheels in our track day cars !!! if you race on 18" we want 18", if you race on 20" we can handle 20"
- Lightweight carpets, we really don't care about sound insulation, let the fat carpet to the GT3 owners, and force the GT3 RS owners to get the lightweight and no insulation stuff
- rollbar mounting plates with studs. Sell us the non-street-legal rollbar or rollcage with a disclaimer, we would rather pay for this option than cup holders.
- Standard Li-Ion battery
- inconel rear center muffler, and tiny side mufflers
- track oriented brake pads, we don't care about noisy brake pads, alert potential buyers of this feature, and let them buy Carreras or Caymans, or even comfy GT3s
- no headlight washing mechanism, but gives us LED headlights
- single windshield wiper blade
- unique carbon sideview mirror with low air resistance
- carbon mounts for transmission, engine and radiators
- manually adjustable 2-way shocks (think Viper ACR)
- an electric power steering pump behind the front axle, mounted on the floor
- welded and bolted coolant lines
- underbody diffuser
- electric e-brake
- lighter radiators, lighter coolant lines
- PCCC (Porsche carbon ceramic clutch disc), like the 8 years old Carrera GT
- a $300k price tag, so I don't have to see one every other miles in South Florida
- no rubber bushings, reuse the Motorsports monoballs
- aluminum body

I would like to consolidate all of this great feedback and compose a formal letter to the head of development for the 991. Any response, I will certainly post here.
Does anyone know the name of the lead 991 engineer? I searched some of the press releases on the Porsche USA website and could not find it. Also, is there a separate lead engineer for the RS?
Thanks, Phil

it occurs to me that if they offer a PDK (& PTV+) option then they will have to replace the current LSD with another unit ... as I recall the LSD on the 991S PDK is also different (than the one on the manual I believe)
anyone agree or alternatively know that I am talking out of my ****?

i doubt factory is going to listen to nj-gt's wish list. if you look at progression of gt cars from 993 to 997.2 in particular and evolution to 991 in general you will see porsche is headed in opposite direction. panamera now has a big influence on 911 philosophy. porsche wants their cars to appeal to widest base, not just track junkies. more able as daily drivers. yes cars are getting faster but that is due to more tech features not less.
my wish list would be 500 hp (which i bet will only be 470) and pdk available option.

What's more, I dont think we are really a significant demographic, and as you point out, the cars are going more in the direction of more features not less...

for me the big question mark is the powerplant; if past performance is indicative of future then we should expect 450-75bhp ... will the car also
have PDK and manual, because as you may recall the 3 transmission was
originally derived from the 993 GT2 Evo ... presumably the new boxes will
cope, but what about cooling etc... then of course there is the LSD ... esp if mated with PDK ...
Also we have yet to see the specs on the C4 and C4S chassis which have traditionally provided the tubs for the 3 & RS ...
and not least...
a new "sports" seat, since they seem to have "deleted" the CGT and GT2 options from the 991 selection...
