Has anyone had a hard time getting the top fill plug out? I ordered the big allen wrench from Amazon and that plug is on there TIGHT. I was leaning on the wrench so hard it was about to start bending and the plug didn't come loose. I might have to get the car on a lift.

I used a 10mm hex bit, a 10mm / 3/8" torque extender, on a long ratchet, total leverage about 18"

If it DOES strip, you can try a chisel to impact it enough to make it loose, If that does not work, take a die grinder with a carbide bit and grind the top of the plug down until it's very close to the surface of the transmission, then use a chisel to knock it so it starts to unscrew. I have had to do this a few times now, especially on older cars where the previous mechanic has partially stripped the plug and then over tightened it on installation.
ALWAYS remove the filler plug before draining the transmission so you know you can fill it up again. Been there, done that on my first 911 over 20 years ago.
Cheers,
Mike

I pay shop to do tranny and oil changes now on my GT3 when they do nut/bolt inspections. Its an hour or two shop labor well spent.
The fill bolt does not need to be that tight, maybe 20 ft lbs? For some reason some crank it way too tight.

Remember if you do use the chisel, it will mar the plug, so prepare to replace it - they are not expensive but only available from Porsche - I get them from Sunset.

Will order one in case, always good to have spares. Anyone have the part number for the aluminum crush washer or does it come with a new plug?
