Ultimate track suspension setup for a GT3 RS.1
Hello Speed Addicted)
I'm sure there are many people with good track experience and suspension tuning to help us.
We need to make an ultimate suspension setup for a GT3 RS Mk1. It has stock body, stock engine.
The car runs in Russia and will participate in national time attack championship.
I was thinking about adding a set of high performance racing 2-way dampers like Motons, JRZ, ANZE/Penske, Ohlins TTX.
Fabryce at GMG suggested to put their monoball arms and anti-roll bars leaving the stock dampers and springs. But I doubt it will work best for us.
We need a good amount of rebound to be fast on slow tracks with high kerbs and be able to adjust the suspension for the faster tracks.
We will have 2 low speed tracks with many tight corners and two mid to high
speed corners, 1 with mainly mid speed corners and low grip pavement, 2 high
speed tracks with good grippy pavement with several elevation changes. The
tires will be 90% Michelin PS Cup as we cannot see huge difference if
putting 18" for now. We cannot put Hoosiers R6/A6 or similar tire due to class
regualtions.
Sample video from the fastest track around here with this particular car on slicks:
Any comments/thoughts are welcome.
Thanks in advance, Alexander.

contact Jan Erren @ Manthey Motors in Germany ... go with a set of their KW custom sprung and valved... or check out the thread on the http://www.exe-tc.co.uk/ suspension ... this might be a better solution for low speed tracks ...
you are going to need experience in tuning/configuring the suspension ... go with either of these guys you will *NOT* be disappointed!

Saved me from typing..
Only Manthey can pull off a suspension setup by wire for the average Joe and for an unknown track.
Their KW is overpriced, their experience comes cheap.

KW is what I said + CUP LSD.
Plus whatever Manthey (AKA Porsche skunkworks) says.
The challenge stands.
Any excuse to go to the Ring is a good one.
Maybe if I promise the wife we go back to Asolo and leave her there for a few days....

I'm thinking either the scuderia hanseat in may or the 3-day touristfahren 26th-28th May 2012 for my next visit ...
I'm also tempted by the PSDS G-Force school in Leipzig on 9th-10th June

Maybe we can try this again for 2012.
Send me some links, what where do yoy get for car? Maybe I can get the same and you can show me around the Ring.
I will look to see if I can book it, maybe pay off and ship the RS. The Euro will be 1 USD thanks to 911SLOW soon after all ;-)

If your class allows it, I would, highly, highly, highly suggest you replace every single piece of rubber in the suspension (RSS, Tarett, GMG, etc) - to me this would be critical when you are going for the last 1/2 second.
I would also replace the engine mounts with semi solid or solid (wevo or Rennline) - if the class allows this - another must - you have to stop the engine from moving / shifting it's large load.
Not as critical, but on the shorter tracks with lots of 2nd to 3rd shifts, you want the 996 cup shifter and cables - if you have to slow your 2nd to 3rd shift during a side loading track out - it will cost you.
Shorter 18" wheels will lower CG and improve gearing
Wide front tire with 9-10" rim
