I tell you what I would do with an extra $100k... Stuff it under my mattress and make it rain every so often:P
But it has to be said the real bargain out there is the MK1 997GT3. For the money it's hard to beat...

needless to say the issue itself was "hiding" in the bathroom ... which of course should have been the 1st place I looked ... can you say "50-something petrolhead" behavior ...
I just scanned it but its 86mb at 600dpi ... I will do it again!
not sure I can make it fit the site limits so if anyone wants a .pdf PM me!

I bet it's actually 4.26 (106mm pistons and 80.4mm RSR stroke). Both of those are available off the shelf and I'd be surprised if they developed a new crank with 81.2mm stroke to hit that magic 4300 cc.
What's interesting to me are the realistic hp ratings found on Manthey's site:
"In the case of the 3.9l-conversion (for 1st gen.), An increase of 35 hp and 35 resulting from the use Nm include special pistons, liners and Kat-manifold element. Rounding out the enhanced performance Cup flywheel, special spark plugs, clutch and sport tuned Motronic. With the 4.1l-liter engine (. For 1st Gen) Manthey puts a shovel on it yet: 65 more horsepower and an increase of 70 Nm are the proud result of engine design á la Manthey. New sucker-highlight is now the full geTÜVte 4.3 l engine, which enabled 510 horsepower and a significant increase of 65 Nm!"
As far as I'm concerned, the only guys doing actual R&D are the ones convincing manufacturers like Mahle, Capricorn, etc to produce the pistons & liners to make these builds happen. I don't think any tuners on this board have that claim to fame.

Anyone here run anything made by Manthey? Just trying to learn more about the P-car vendors that are involved in motorsport. Pretty new to this area.

bombproof/"what it says on the tin..."
IMO you cannot get/there is no better/pedigree than the one Manthey has, you just have to look at their racing experience (or just tour their facilities next to the Ring) to be convinced that they are world class...
