Congrats to the seller. The pricing was very aggressive and it makes sense that it was gone same day.

Don't feel bad, I doubt the 997.1 GT3 would go under $60k for well taken care of cars in the next 2 years. There is no new GT3 for at least 2 years, and Porsche proved that it could sell 5,000+ 997. GT3/GT3 RS in 2 years.

So, for the next 2 years (2012/2013) Porsche won't make 5,000 GT3s, and the demand for a GT3 would have to look at the used market. This will help resale value on the 997.1 and 997.2.

Also, you should notice the gap between the 997.1 GT3 and 997.1 GT3 RS have come down, and even more the gap between the 997.1 and 997.2 GT3/GT3 RS.

After seeing the performance gap between the heaviest GT3 ever made (U.S. 997.1 GT3) and one of the lightest ones (3.8 RS), it is hard to justify the price difference.

I am going to copy this ad to the Rennlist Posting Guidelines section.

Short and to the point. Priced to sell. No "expert" comments. Simple and efficient.

Well done and congrats to both.

so you say performance diff between 997.2 gt3 rs and 997.1 gt3 is not worth its price? i am not sure i understand. 3.8 rs is lighter and got 450 horses.

Ever been on a track in a 997.1 GT3 following a 997.2 RS?
my 997.1 GT3 following a 2010 RS

The price delta between the two cars makes it hard to swallow when on track... even though the new RS's are sweet!!

My money's on #1 buyer following through.... unless the PPI turns up issues not easily resolvable...

...just sayin'

Good luck to seller and buyer!!

Thanks for all the response. Car is currently getting a PPI at a local shop. If current sale falls through I will let you guys know. Honestly, the response has been overwhelming. I never expected so much interest with such a bad economy. Also, most of the offers have been from out of the country. I have a backup offer to ship the car to China. No inspection required. The guy told me his occupation is transporting low milage used high end cars to south china. Appearently, the taxes on the new cars is so high it makes the used cars a bargin.
