I had the GT2 bar installed today in the softest position. The stock drop link now sits at an angle (given that the softest hole is the farthest away from the bar), although it clearly has enough play to be at that angle.

Question for the guys who went to the rear GT2 bar. Did you keep the stock drop links, or did you switch to Tarett to keep the angle close to 90 degrees?

my rear tarret drop links developed severe rattle after 2 years... my mechanic tok stock droplinks and welded more material over its rod, fronts are also modified in similar way.

Stock rear links can get pretty twisted if you lower your car much.

My Tarett rear drop links were getting loose but not yet noisy after 50 some track days. Ira at Tarett sent me new link ends at no charge - great guy to do business with - produces high quality products and really stands behind them in my experience.

Is the GT2 rear bar recommended for the '11 RS, too?

Stock droplinks here with GMG bars. Before I rebuilt my LSD, the car was almost undriveable with the bar on the middle setting, had to move it to soft with front bar on middle setting. I expect to go back to the middle setting with my new LSD though.

Since the GMG rear bar is apparently a bit stiffer than the GT2 bar though, I wonder how it translates.

Not too the best of my knowledge, I believe much of the changes in the .2 suspension came from the GT2 already, I think the rear bars are identical, or at least the same thickness etc ...

On the .1 the thicker rear bar dials out some of that initial turnin understeer...

having said that a number of .2 owners have installed the GMG sway bars with incremental improvements over the OEM...

you should post your experience with the new bar ... hopefully you notice the car turns in better than before ...

I believe the car already has rear brake ducts. I'm not so sure right now.

Since the car is at the dealership I need to check tomorrow.

they are not as effective on the .1 as they are on the .2 because the .2 has "cutout" dust shields behind the rear brakes that allows the air to flow unobstructed onto the rotors (unlike the .1 dust shields that partially obscure).

None the less they do help, or you can CAREFULLY cut the dust shields ... replacing them is a pain as you have to remove the calipers+rotors
