Gentlemen,
Was just noticing Hennessey and Isringhausen Porsche have 2 and 1 for sale, each. In black no less. Nice markup at 212k and 207k, but still, I thought these were all sold out to individuals.
What a work of art BTW.

The usual BS. Some dealers want to try and squeeze out additional markup. They are under no obligation to pre-sell to individuals. This is a fine opportunity to recognize those dealers that regularly chose to hold out for the highest bidder as opposed to supporting the enthusiast community. Personally I would drive 500 miles out of my way to not support their sales or service department.

That's nice. I talked to Hennessey about buying one back in May or June. They told me their allocation was all spoken for and brushed me off. Great customer service for them to do that and then spec them out for themselves to sell.

Seems that this is a very standard practice among Porsche dealers, one of the dealers in RI gave me the same runaround when I was trying to get a Spyder specced the way I wanted. Found out after the fact that they had the allocations but they wanted a premium for it.

my opinion...
There is no market for a $200k GT3 based on the defunct 997 chassis. PCNA is going to bring around 150 of these to U.S., and very likely many orders will be cancelled.
The 991 is around the corner and that's not going to help resale on the 997 of any type.
The worse enemy of a 4.0RS is the 3.8RS, a car that for almost half the price gives 99% of the performance. 3.8RS are selling in the $115k range currently.
My take is that in 6 months, the 4.0RS will be moving at $15k under MSRP for brand new car sitting on dealers lots, and $150k for used ones.
Car collectors don't buy brand new Porsches. The latest Porsche worth collecting is the Carrera GT.
Just 3 years ago people were paying $200k for the supposed to be exclusive 2007 GT3 RS, a car that now sells for $85k.

My understanding is that both cars were listed in inventory thus showed up as available when they were spoken for. Again, Hennessy did not sell for over MSRP and did not pull someones order to "resell" for their benefit.
