Is the GT3 too loud.........

I found it too loud to commute in. Every time I'm on the phone, I get the inevitable... Where are you? I think the tires have a lot do with it though. I'm running some old heat cycled R888's that were no longer suitable for the track. They're hard as rocks now so they seem to last and last
Once the inner edges on the rears burn up, I'm going to find some 1000 treadware rain appropriate tires and see if that doesn't quiet it down some.
There's a lot of other issues with commuting in this car. Ride height is always a problem, and my car is not lowered. Shifting while on the phone is always challenging. Finding a parking space to hide it from my staff is never easy as well.

Maybe mine is quieter because I run these cheap monsoon rated tires on the street to play submarine in the Florida rains: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....el=Exclaim+UHP

I had a .2 GT3 then upgraded to the RS. For commutig, the GT3 is bearable but barely. The RS is just that bit too loud. You get used to it though. For fun driving, their not loud enough . I have a prius as my commuter so I get my quiet. In my GT3, I can't get enough of the music not coming from the stereo

With a stripped interior and Sharkwerks center section while sitting in the drivers seat at anything above 3k RPM, YES!!!! BUT it sounds soooo good when I hear my wife do a drive by In cases like this a pound of moderate ear pain is worth an ounce of pure ear elation.

First thing I did was get the GMG bypass, then unplugged, so flaps open all the time. No drone at speed, but the most intoxicating sound while upshifting to higher RPM's and burping the throttle on downshifts. I set off car alarms daily, but love the sound! Although wife has to roll up the passenger window when I get on it and complains she can't talk on her cell phone.....oh well....

it's all over the map, man. whether or not it's too loud to commute in depends... the stock system with sport mode off, you can commute all day, but def not ideal for those who are on a lot of conf calls (I am).
i don't like drone at all so unplugged stock system... the drone gets annoying quick so anything aftermarket unplugged is simply a no go for me. i even find myself sometimes sitting at a stop light with sport mode on turning it off because the slight drone is just not what i'm in the mood for.
i've done a few xxx mile trips to canada and it was just fine. in fact, i have gotten to not enjoy the intakey, muffled stock sound. looking at the gmg unit!

Did a joyride on Friday for several hours to the eastern mountains with 50 other p-cars
Spent most of the time in 3rd/4th/5th and 4500+rpm. Sharky bypass in there of course.
By the evening my ears were bleeding so worth it...

With the standard exhaust it is loud but not as ferrari or lamborghini, it is just reminding you are driving super sport car and the exhaust sound is within the safety range for human 84 db

Are you rolling on dubs in the GT3 now?

most of the (unpleasant) noise comes from the tires on crappy road surfaces ... the sextet in the back are singing in harmony along with the trumpeting twins
