Is the GT3 too loud.........
I autox my 10 GT3.
I love my GT3.
But, a 45 minute highway drive to get someplace and a 45 minute drive back.....well IMHO the GT3 is too loud. The thing sounds amazing though.
I do have other cars to drive, and in like 18 months I have almost 3900 miles on her.

Is the 10 GT3RS louder than my GT3 ?
If it is I would need earplugs for the RS, may even get them in the GT3 when the noise gets bothersome in the future.

I'm going to go with "no" for me. I think the consensus is also in that category given the number of people who immediately upgrade the center section to a bypass. I find the car in normal mode pretty sedate when below 4K RPM's. With sport on, it sounds wonderful. I can't stop driving this car. 4K miles in 2 months!

it's 2 loud for me when the valves are always on loud mode (unplug). it's the drone that gets to me. little tolerance for it.
for long trips, i can see it being a bit too much as there's a lot of road noise. so the sport mode is perfect since it doesn't open up unless you get on it.

I think my 2010 GT3 is not loud as far as engine noise. The only thing I really hear is the tires at speed and the rain and those are the loudest noises. My F430 was a lot louder as far as engine noise, but much more quiet at everything else. I think the GT3 is perfect as it is for very long drives, but I do wish the engine noise to be louder inside the car. Remember a 3.2 Carrera is louder and harder to drive than a 997GT3, I see how different are Porsche drivers of today.

My car is bone stock, other than the struts being rotated.
Is the 10 RS much louder than the plain old GT3 ?
At low speeds it seems like in "sport" mode the car is louder, but once at highway cruise speed doesn't seem louder, or at least their doesn't seem much of a change.
PS....i have heard that the Veyron is really loud inside

the DB rating on the GT3 street cars (99-2011) are all pretty much the same.
With sport button on it is louder of course.
The 2010 will be about the same as your 2007......

The 10 RS is the same motor as the standard 3 so its going to make the same amount of "motor" noise. It does have the light weight flywheel so that will make more noise at idle. I'd imagine a lot of mid engine cars with the motors right behind your ears would be fairly loud.

I find on longer trips most of the noise is coming from the tires and probably the lack of insulation in the car.
With the valves unplugged the exhaust can get to be a bit too much on a long cruise. But, with the valves plugged and the SW bypass a long drive is not an issue.

The .2 GT3s are a little louder than the .1s.

997.1 GT3 here. I have had the GMG bypass since almost new, and the exhaust valve unplugged. No drone at all. Not an issue for me. I can't see myself going back to stock....

Too loud ?? Maybe you might have a problem with your exhaust system.. You might want to check your manifold and silencers...
Stock 977.2 gt3 sound wasn't enough for me.. So I went with a x-pipe from rss..
Sounds like Mezger on cocaine
