Savy, thanks for the pictures, especially the behind the scenes pictures of the suspension....got any more?

What can I say that hasn't already been said...WOW! awesome looking car...happy you got 1.

Would love a detailed write up comparing the GT3RS, GT2RS and the 4.0 since you own they all and have driven them all on the track.

I went back and forth between the black and white. Black is so sinister but man what a nightmare to keep clean, and hot for us desert dwellers.

That is most of the candy pics, couple more below.

I sold the 2RS but miss the go-straight-to-jail, Star-Trek warp speed second and third gear pulls. A lazy spool-up and then a sledgehammer to the face powerband.

The 4.0 is just rev rev rev rev - shift! rev rev rev rev... the 3.8 is rev rev rev shift! rev rev rev... And I swear the 4.0 suspension is more supple than both. Also the 2RS LSD seemed to me to lock/unlock with more of a jolt and twitch to the car than the 4.0.

Also the solid suspension candy of the 4.0/2RS vs 3.8 makes a difference in knife-edge responses. All are of course mighty fine and more enjoyable than a sharp poke in the eye

Thanks Jimmy! It is very hard to imagine improving on this. Look up visceral in the dictionary and a pic of the 4.0 should be there for sure.

For a person that truly loves cars and driving them, yes, it has to be right up there with best in the world.

It is well known that ole' Blue is my favorite, but for a reasonable price (win/win) it could certainly be bought. It would really need to be in current track (but street legal) spec for it to make any sense for buyer and seller. But for a person seeking the ultimate turn-key cheater, it would be a sweet deal.

That action would in turn result in a brand new track built 4.0 story to be documented in these pages. I have ideas...

Congratulations, Pete! That is a beautiful and well specced car for sure. I'm looking forward to your write-up on the new brakes.

I know what you mean about how hard a black car is keep clean. My Turbo S and Cayenne are both white, and the GT3 is black, and I swear it takes as much effort to keep clean as the other two put together. Nonetheless, a nice problem to have.

So jealous !!! Do you have the " thicker Steering wheel " option on your 3.8 RS ? Is the 4.0 wheel thicker, or smaller in diameter ?

Late to the thread, but Pete, that is one nice spec!!

Back to the 4.0 PET part numbers thread for me I guess.

911Slow can probably just summerise the complete suspension parts list I need + the pressure plate that I will break soon.

The carbon fenders, hood and engine will have to come later....

I want one so bad, but must remain on the straight and narrow.
Must remain on the straight and narrow.

For now.
