Looking at some of the pictures of this NRing specific edition, the ride height looks lower than a cupcar - I would bet if you put a gt2rs at this ride height and then made sure the geometry of the suspension all worked using a bunch or RSR or cup parts and called it the gt2rs NRing Edition - you could drop 10 seconds off it's time as well - just my opinion.
Amazing time none the less and it is great to see all the manufacturers actually pushing hard to see what they can deliver.

997 GT3 RS 3.8 dropped 7 secs over 997 GT3 3.8 with aero changes, gear ratio changes and a minor bump in power. Essentially Aero was the biggest gain, negligible weight savings.
If Lexus switches to sticky tires (toyo r888, MPSC, etc) they have an easy 7-10 secs to gain at the Ring. With proper aero (which pictures clearly show) there can be another 5-7 secs gained. This is just a tires and aero upgrade, but there is more they can do:
1) the sloppy shifting speed on the standard LF-A can be improved from 200ms to 50-80ms
2) Add power (and they did)
3) Reduce weight, big gains here. The bulky power seats are gone, this new edition has CCB, LW exhaust and more carbon body parts.
This edition has been under development even before the standard LF-A was released to the market.
I want it, in Orange. Check last Sunday's Top Gear USA and enjoy the soundtrack this car produces.

996 GT3 RS dropped 11 secs over 996 GT3, just by switching to sticky tires and a small rear wing. No extra power, weight savings were negligible.

Does anybody actually care how fast the car they bought laps the 'ring? HOW it laps is the key not how fast.
Chris Harris said on Twitter though that the LFA N'burg Ed is his new favourite 'ring car and he owns a 4.0RS and has lapped a GT2RS. Money no object its clearly great but as stated a GT3RS N'burg Ed could be a very specialised piece of kit too...
